None of that is the EdgeMax series.

That is all the original wireless stuff before even the Unifi line.

Yes it is all still currently available, but not nearly as horrible as that article is trying to insinuate.

All that gear should be behind a router normally.

Ya I was looking through it and noticed that. The tough switch was in there, but that's the only non bridge type device I saw.

The tough switch has been a dead product for years.

Ah didn't realize that. I've seen it for sale a few places, but never noticed they weren't produced any more.

It might still be produced, but it has not been developed against at all.

@scottalanmiller said in UK to block Kodi streams:

So in the UK, sports franchises now have "ownership" of the Internet and can determine your right to use your own data? Reading the ruling, they are going to block any Kodi server they want, even if you own it and are using it for your own content. They literally "own" you now, at least during the hours under which they are doing business - which is something that they determine.

No, they have copyright of the media. The servers being blocked are illegally providing a feed of that media.

      Where is the disconnect here?

The league is required to show proof of the illegal stream before the site is blocked.

That's what I was missing, and what I was asking. In that case,it seems reasonable, if hard to do.

According to the article, it is no longer hard to do. That is part of the point.

Although also according to the article, the process is secret, so we don't know what they are doing at all. It does imply that they are supposed to only be blocking illegal streams. I question that it must be obscure to work. They haven't said how they would offer proof, only that they came up with their own method for determining who to block.

This line here insinuates it is simply a digital fingerprint.

Judge Arnold states that technological advances in video fingerprinting can identify illegal streams in near real-time, allowing ISPs to be notified of new servers "nearly instantaneously."

So streaming over HTTPS wouldn't be prevented. Seems like this is going to become more and more useless as the internet moves to encryption as a standard.

I'm pretty sure this isn't news - i.e. it was anounced a month or more ago.

this offer applies to personal computers running on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. The only difference is, the offer is exclusive for businesses that have subscribed to one of the Windows Enterprise plans.

I recall hearing about this requirement for this back then.

@Reid-Cooper said in HPE Acquires Nimble:

This will really lower competition in the SAN space. Only a few viable vendors left. Nimble was one of the few major players.

I disagree. What about Tintri, Kaminario, or Tegile? There are still plenty of vendors out there in Nimble's competitive tier. I mean they don't compare to HDS or IBM but again, Nimble is a completely different use case.

Honestly I think it would have made more sense for HPE to acquire Tintri for their portfolio at a reasonable price. Nimble is awesome for its own use case, but the acquisition seemed to be just one of appeasement to shareholders.

Unless they are shifting gears and trying to get more competitive in small-medium markets as an all around vendor (aside from adding Nimble, thinking of them purchasing Aruba a couple years ago as well).

Well it is specifically Android TV, so if you want the Android TV OS, interface and compatibility. It's a video gaming platform as well as television system.

Its not through. Its a stock Android 5.1 image that requires you to get a media style interface from the Play Store, rather than a "proper" Android TV system.

Weird, maybe they pulled the version. They have Android 7 TV...

I have a Samsung TV, but refuse to leave it connected to the internet because Samsung specifically outsouces the audio recorded by the TV, etc. no thanks. I'll get updates if/when I need one to make something work, beyond that I use my Roku and Amazon TV.
