All joking aside, I'm in need of transport, or even to Newark NJ's airport.

I may end up making the drive there myself. . . but if there is anyone who's planning to make either trip let me know.

where are you headed in Florida?

I'm not headed, I need a dog taken down the Pensacola

    That's south georgia haha

I've actually never been to the panhandle, but it is more like the rest of the south not really florida.

    Florida is somehow worse.

We have 3 very distinct regions. The climate goes from temperate, to sub-tropical to tropical Aks south Georgia, central Florida, and South Florida.

Most news stories come out of Central and South Florida. Oddly enough those are also the much nicer areas. It's pretty common to go from mansions to the ghetto in less than a mile. The last neighborhood I lived in before where I'm at now, our neighborhood was across the street from pretty bad housing. The housing complex had barbed wire like you'd see in a prison, but there were were across the street where houses were up to $500k.

Since there is so much water in most of Florida, bad areas are bound to be near water. Waterfront will of course always be expensive. So you have rich areas right next to really bad areas. In south Florida you can draw a line on a map and know what areas are good and what are bad. The just follow a certain distance to the coast.

I had sling.tv subscription over a year ago and it was horrible experience. Initially everything worked just fine, but about 2 weeks into, outages started happening every evening. AMC or Epix was impossible to watch. Picture quality also wasn't the best, someone reverse-engineered their streams to find it wasn't even 720p. We switched to PS Vue after 3 months, it currently is $55/mo for one of the higher packages (I think they have 4 available). There's no comparison in quality and reliability, Sony wins here.

    Hello,

I wish all the best to your children but I wondered this, especially for small kids (I dont have any):

Would you like your kids to be I.T Smart as you and be in the I.T Field ? I actually would hate it, I would want them the farthest thing from I.T so we can leave the house once a while.

What does this have to do with leaving the house? Granted, if your hobby is something on the computer, you're more likely to stay indoors, but it doesn't mean you're relegated to never going outside.

I think this has more to do with exposure to those other things.

Abit related to 1, if you teach them how to be smart in using I.T devices, It is scary for me seeing my brother child seeing all those weird videos supposedly target-ted for children on You-tube and ...

How to use devices doesn't mean you're smart in IT, it just means you learned how to use a device. A person who can make an iPad sing doesn't mean they are an IT Pro.
What weird videos are you talking about? Of course as a parent, it's your job to monitor what your children are viewing. I'm pretty sure YouTube has a child friendly mode for things like this.

how soon kids age of 4 can navigate smart phone or tablet, but how can we combat this? Offline content perhaps, any other good ideas .

What are you trying to combat? Their use of technology? why? It's the world we live in. Should they have more skills than just how to operate a smart phone/tablet, sure, but should you reduce their skill there? I don't think so.

Is there something about your own life you are unhappy with, that you think forcing yourself to do outdoor activities will make you happier? or any non IT activities that will make you happier?

    What about shit like this:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYDWLuoE-vA
    Youtube Video

For some reason its all the rage for some kinds of kids, they are obsessed with it. The thing is you cant monitor them all the time, btw I heard 2 parents complained over this in Canada and Jordan.

you do not protect your kids by make them more or less ignorant about a comminication medium. You protect them by educating them to contents.

I've been using FrootVPN for the past couple years or so for all occasions. I only have positive things to say... fast, reliable, very low cost, lots of servers. I started with them when they only had one server, in Sweden. Now they have a ton world wide, which is very useful while I am in Sweden... and very useful when in the States!

    Copy/paste from their website:

    ALL PLANS INCLUDE
OpenVPN, PPTP, SSTP, L2TP (over IPsec)
    First class VPN software
    5 simultaneous connections
    Unlimited bandwidth and speed
    2048bit encryption
    Torrents and P2P Networks
    No logs
    80 VPN servers worldwide
Global network with 22 countries coverage

@coliver It's actually a pretty cool town if you're there when spiceworld is not happening. Assuming you like tacos and BBQ, of course.

I've got family there. The food is amazing and we listened to a decent band at a dive bar close to their house.

I suppose the best plan is to avoid flaming Dr. Peppers and parking garages...

I would not get a 720P camera just because it's like $5 more for 1080p. My very old, very nice 1080p USB camera was only a few bucks more all that time ago than a 720p. You don't need 1080p, I agree. But it's SO cheap.

My wife has one and really likes it. She had an Apple Watch for a day, replaced it once and returned replacement promptly. Battery wouldn't last as advertised and fitness tracker was way inaccurate, showing something like 200kcal burned during entire day. No such issues with Fitbit.

HA ha. Back when Ubuntu was new they talked about why they chose the name all the time. Means like community or friendship or something like that.

    way more complex: this.
