The "free" audible with Prime is very limited in scope, you'd have to subscribe to the full Audible to get audiobooks.

That said I drive, like a lot, 2 hours each way to work everyday. And audio books are a big part of what keeps me sane. If I went the audible way then I would be bankrupt pretty quickly.

Libraries are a good place to get audio books, but I still go through them faster than I can get them, though most libraries have online digital checkout options for audio books, so check with your local library on that.

When all else fails I torrent audio books. I belong to a private torrent community that does nothing but audio books. It has come in very handy.

I really wish someone would start a Netflix type audiobook service, and all you can listen to flat rate service.

4 hours of drive! What else you do during that long drive?

I like the idea of a Netflix kind service, but if you look at it Amazon probably covers a huge library of books! I wish Audible had an unlimited book options on a flat rate.

Actually, I got it working with bumblebee-project installed. It did not work in Korora 25, but seems to be working in 26.

I prefixed the wow-64.exe with optirun and it just worked. Great framerate too. I just need to work out the mouse capture part yet. But that's not a big deal since I don't play that game much anyways. It was just easy to test with because it's on an external drive. Hopefully it's not like that in NMS.

My cpu fan is still running full speed from the glxgear test, even though it's way cooled down by now. A reboot may fix that, though.

I hope Fedora 26 stays just as it is. "Works" great so far. More so than 25.

I had a hallwayless house once, we loved it.

Its not your current house, is it? If not, could you redraw the layout to give us an idea of what it looked like and why you loved it so much?

as long as the bedroom was not directly against the living room or family room, that is fine.

I have seen a few layouts where there is basically an alcove off the kitchen/dining room with doors going in 3 directions to bedrooms and a bathroom. so not a hallway.

You could achieve this with storage space too. We'll see what the builders offer. It'll be fun to show you guys whenever that ends up happening

For a moment I thought that this was about Storage Spaces. But nope, actually discussing storage space. LOL

    @dafyre Yep. "Here's your sign."

I found the issue. My new extension umatrix was getting aggressive. I have been using it a few days without any issues, and I just didn't think it would cause issues with ML.

I've grown to hate E-mail signatures that include images.

I've gone back and forth over the years. For a while I had our organization's logo in my signature. I no longer do. I seem to flip flop between sending emails as plain text and then going nuts with HTML formatting. I think I just get bored and need a change-up every now and then, lol.

The reason why I removed the logo from my signature was because to our mail server (Zimbra) every email I sent appeared like it had an attachment. So doing a search for "all emails I sent with an attachment" was not very helpful...

Tons of email systems do that, it's amazing how few people will ever see the email formatted as intended. It must be like 1%.

I've never used more than the defaults (shotwell and gwenview).

Shotwell is installed on Korora 25 by default. Gwenview is not, but in the standard updates repo.

    I'll look at them.

Gwenview is Qt based so it will most likely install a crap ton of dependencies. It might be something to research before installing it if you don't want all of that.

    You could say that...

Ya I didn't know if Cinnamon included anything. I really only use it on a KDE system like I have now. I've found that GTK stuff looks better under Qt than Qt does under GTK. But that might just be me.

After I installed wireshark on Fedora 25 cinnamon, I looked at what gui packages were available and seen qt and gtk. I chose qt and it looks/runs great and smooth.

Ya Qt is awesome. It gives you a lot of flexibility.

It's been a while since I had a single Qt app run under a GTK DE so things may have improved a lot.

I'm kind of excited to see how LXQt turns out when it's all finished.

How about a wireless bridge in between?

How hilarious would it be if I had two of these 7 feet from each other. If Scott ever comes to NJ I wonder how badly I can trigger him, it's like a mental version of Home Alone

While hilarious, I actually doubt they'd work well that close to each other. If you really wanted wireless that close to each other, lasers win., but are even more expensive.

Probably not. Those things need some room to "breath".

The pictures of the signal wave forms are always fun at least. Gotta brush off my rusty math to actually do the calculations.
