In a warehouse setting, these phones just don’t seem to have enough ringer to be heard.
Without having to add IP device, could you add an external ringer via the USB port?

Been a trip since getting into this renovated building. Different challenges and new setups. Working on making adjustments to the new door access systems. Learning a decent bit on these new systems and been fun.

So found out the user is actually corrupt, this is the 4th time this has happened according to the internal IT team, and they're looking to get the PC replaced
It’s always best to replace a corrupt user. The can leave so much of a mess.
Is something like DeepFreeze in use? That could explain part of it at least.
Been a weekend I don’t wish to repeat though it hasn’t been terrible.
Dad (85 yo) fell Friday and broke his hip. Surgery yesterday to replace went well. And is in good spirits other wise… it’s difficult being so far away should he need more help.
Fortunately the house has no stairs once inside,.. and that and PT should do okay in recovery.
A lot to do,.. a lot done,.. and zero work stress!
been a good day weather wise,.. landscaping in being worked on, got some time to test the portable station and sent a message using the radio - @jt1001001 Yeasu FT-817 and portable End Fed antenna on a 30' kitepole. Connected to a station about 180 miles away on Winlink ....
Smoker running with dinner and the bonus of some Colby and Colby Jack cheese blocks.... gonna play a little Ghost Recon in a bit before getting things running for the new week.

@gjacobse You going to Dayton this year? I had it in my plans but sadly they fell through.
No, never works out, never plan to, only some times have an interest,.. and don’t need anything that bad.
Yay! Warehouse!
Anyone need Cisco Phones? We are moving away from physical phones and will have a number to off load…
Listening to the tick of lightning in the area on windy.com… wondering if we will have any (more) leaks.
Awaiting the Juniper APs to be brought up… glad I don’t have to install them,… twenty-three feet up…
Still catching up on things after getting back from Virginia - was a good trip, good to see family.
Now trying to deal with the three computers I ended up coming back with. Server may be good to go - pass it off to someone in need, Desktop will likely get stripped and recycled or donated. But the iMAC,.. that I have to figure out how to clear/clean to sell. I can't recall the last time or even if I have ever wiped and loaded a MAC. It's ad AiO, so not going to pull the drive out as I would a desktop or laptop...
Sunday hobbies..
Driving. Visits are done, things exchanged.
Getting to a point I’m not as big of a fan of driving I was once.

We had a full hardware failure on the node that handled ML today. But we are back up and running now
Well that explains a lot. Hate that but glad we’re back
Create: eight print queues
Stage: two new Juniper switch’s
Onboard: ship hardware
Remote: fix a scanner, Outlook/ network share,
Just your typical day,…
Dealing with the closeness of the most recent and senseless act of violence.
Shooting in Mississippi hits close to the family,.. one of the teens killed… sad and senseless.
@scottalanmiller said in winget vs choco:
@gjacobse Choco is an interface to Nuget.
Winget, I believe, is for the MS Store and managing the installed programs dialogue. So related, but not overlapping.
So - Likely would need to use both as some packages are available on both, but then some are only available in one or the other...
@gjacobse said in WINGET: Not available on Win10.:
Why would Winget not be available on a brand new device with the most updated build?
All my reading has stated that it is native since 1709..
Okay - been to many days since I found this. Seems that yes,.. on a fresh OEM install of Win10 it is not there.
After being fully updated it has been there. So - might just be the Media Creation Build in use that it isn't on. Which is fine with me.

Just had an iPad decide to switch the Ethernet IP setting back to Automatic and it assigned a link-local IP (169.254.x.x) and I'm thankful I finished Network+ classes cause I recognized the IP and was able to have it fixed in 2 minutes (set back to manual and update IP address ) - feeling accomplished today so far.
One of the occasional cases when it’s not DNS. Or the five computer I had here last week where it was DHCP.
Flush and shorten the lease period…
Rather than to have to rebuild the user profile- is there a process that would reset the users security on the documents?
Mainly seems to be OneDrive. Can open document in the browser and then push to the app, but the OneDrive save on the computer won’t open.
Save the browser to the local computer and compare- both files show the same security options; allow full control:
System
User
Administrator
One file opens, the other access denied.
@scottalanmiller said in What Are You Doing Right Now:
The spam bots have gotten so bad that we are moving to admin approval on new accounts.
I guess you are seeing them before I do and clearing them as I haven’t seen any for a day or so.
But I understand the move. Will the system purge unapproved accounts or are you still having to do that?
Not totally certain on this, but here are some additional factors.
Thus far, the following has been working:
Outlook
Word, Excel, etc
