It does work great. I have small hands and love that I can do that and have the bigger phone.

I have seen some books for the Apple certifications, but they were always Apple books.

They had Mavericks then Yosemite. It's named after things in California since 10.9.

    I thought Yosemite was Wyoming...

    That's Yellowstone. My bad.

I do, I've got a long time without one now. Had one for a few months but that was all. The new ones are super light and thin which is pretty cool and even more processing power than the iPhone 6 if you go for the larger model.

So my iPhone 5s was having an issue with its battery and/or its ability to charge and hold a charge. I worked on it for about two weeks and finally gave up that it was not something that I would be able to address and so made an appointment this afternoon to take it to the Apple Store in Stamford, Connecticut to see if there was anything that could be done for my year old phone that was still perfectly functional except for this long charge time and rapid discharge time issue.

The whole experience was very good. They got me right in when they said that they would. My attendant, Robin, looked at the phone and asked me a few questions and determined that nothing was diagnostically wrong and that they could not repair it or figure out what was wrong. So without further ado he swapped out my phone and got me underway with a brand new iPhone 5s that worked perfectly.

I was not expecting to come away with a new phone. Very happy with Apple and the Apple Store. They took care of me and now I feel confident traveling with my iPhone as we head to the convention in Austin tomorrow. I really needed a reliable, long lasting phone and now I have one again.

Thanks Robin and Apple on a great customer experience day.

Well I just went and did a creepy drive around to the 3 local branches of my cell provider. two have lines for the 6 already, one does not. I will now end my thread-jacking and agree that we do very often forget to appreciate good service. It's nice.

On a side note, if i make it in line early enough, my iphone 6+ will be nice too.

How does it hand off a phone call that is not on IP?

Call turns into WiFi. No call originates on IP. Or effectively none.

You'll have to add more explanation at some point.

@Katie I think it got longer than normal support due to the fact that it could still run the old code.

You find the most archaic stuff. Serious trip down memory lane, though.

@JaredBusch I am aware of that. However, Apple fought it for a long time, preferring, what I consider, to be an antiquated "one key at a time" method, for phones. Computers are a different story.

There are Swype keyboards outside the official one. Just saying. All the ones I know of work on Android. That's probably tied with the interface for the thing that I hated most about WP8. No Swype and no workaround option.

We use a mac mini server for streaming locally generated TV content (I work for telecom, working with IPTV) So it's primarily multicast traffic.

We do have a mac mini server for corporate as well. That handles the group policies and such for our mac computers. Works nice. Not sure what OS version it is on.

@JaredBusch Mac and its features do have a consumer bent. Gotta consider I.T. pros being responsible for themselves and their own processes.

Actually, surprised you did not mention doing the backups via cron/systemd/etc.
