My phone hasn't even been updated to 6 yet lol

And this is why I switched back to Apple. 4.5" phone, updates directly from Apple, and no bloatware.

Yup, same here. It's great knowing that there is no artificial crippling me to get me to buy a new phone or to hold back features and such.

Which is why I swear by the Nexus line if you want Android. Apple is still the easiest/quickest game around for phones/tablets tho.

My next phone will be whatever the Nexus line has when I get ready to replace my Note 4.

Oh I didn't catch that. Yes, one or the other. Both would be a LOT of traffic and overhead and who would use both?

      @dafyre obviously.

What do you do if you need to visualize all this data that collectl is gathering? I see no utilities included to help with that... unless it is used for on the fly tracking, and not long term stuff.

ELK can collect directly, it doesn't need Collectl. At least for most things.

      How? Using the Logstash fowarder?

      Topstash or something like that.

I was reading this the other day. A lot of governments have announced some open source initiatives.

Yes, it is definitely snowballing. Germany forged a path and China and India followed along maybe six months ago which those together gave such a range of different approaches and goals lending a huge air of confidence. Now smaller nations less looking to blaze a new trail and more just looking to take a smart path are testing the waters.

Oh, we're also good at backpedaling: LiMux(*) is an epic disaster for a lot of reasons (remember: I'm a big fan and long time user of Linux, BSD and other *NIX, so this isn't about trolling...)

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LiMux

Edit: Was just scanning over the Wikipedia article, looks like the best project ever. In fact, they're trying to get back to Windows. http://www.neowin.net/news/munich-germany-realizes-that-deploying-linux-was-a-disaster-going-back-to-windows

For vector design, I use Inkscape. I've designed some logos for people with it and it works really well. I've only used Scribus a couple of times but it seemed fine when I used it.

The author even mentions in the article "No machine"

Which I think is pretty funny. I haven't used it or set it up. I suppose I should try it.

NoMachine is the company that makes the NX protocol. That's all. X2Go is the free implementation of NX/NoMachine that we all use.

Well the freely available NoMachine is more like a team viewer replacement. You only have the single shared session. It also has remote support tools like chat and a whiteboard.

When did that change? I used to use that and it was like X2Go.

I think a while ago. If you want their terminal server version you have to pay for it.

They also have a web based version, but it's also only the paid version.

I dunno, really? Overall I want to run what my colleagues asking me for help are running.

That makes sense. Running Mac OSX helps you be familiar with what the most people need help with. That makes sense. When I ran OSX, I was definitely experiencing the same issues as lots of other people. If you are supporting people, matching your problems to theirs when possible is certainly sensible.

Although, when possible, I'd push to fix their problems rather than just replicating them 🙂

Maybe it was a few weeks. It was in the news. Czechia had always been used as a short form name, but it was switched to be the official English language name of the country just recently. It was while I was in Romania that they renamed it, I am pretty sure. For some reason it didn't make much news.

      http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/15/europe/czech-republic-name-czechia/index.html

And that article clearly states that they are only seeking to change their short name / familiar name to Czechia in the U.N databases. There is nothing in there about a name change for their formal name. It is still the Czech Republic.

When I had seen it reported before, the mention of only being their shorter name was not mentioned and it was reported as the formal name being changed in English (e.g. they said "Czech Republic changed to Czechia."

I leave work to be by myself during lunch, even if I only drink a bottle of Soylent. Removing myself for some alone time really helps me out.

It's incredibly important that I get my arse out of the building for an hour as well

i used to play MTG at lunch and several other CCGs as well - but those friends aren't available any more so it withered and died.

My friend and I play x-wing at lunch every couple of days. It's rare but always fun.

must be small battles, I can't play 150 points in less than 90 mins in Xwing.

      50-75.
