I've upgraded my 11.03 instance to the 12 beta. It works great! All of the plugins that I use for it do work, and I even got the Collabora Online docker image to work with it as well!

The video chat does work well. I haven't found where to test the regular chat yet.

Good for you Maine. Not letting anti-competitive laws pass is a great way to fight the impending loss of Net Neutrality.

Time to move to the land of lobster!

I've got family up there. It's actually a really nice state.

I spent my childhood summering there every other year. I actually really love it. My family came SO close to selling the farm and buying a diner up there on an island when I was about ten. I almost grew up in a tiny little island town.

On a Chromebook, can you set your default browser to Firefox, IE, Edge, etc.?

On an iPad, can you set your default browser to Firefox, IE, Edge, Chrome, etc.?

The import thing is that you CAN set them to NOT Edge.

Yeah, well you see... it's no different than what other vendors are doing with their restrictive OSs.... it just so happens that Edge is new and people need to fix their programming 😛

      runs away

      Yeah... that's the issue.

*States shall be liable for damage caused by their space objects; and

That one was violated this year.

China is responsible for a huge percentage of debris around our planet. Were they penalized for that?

Huge percentage? Not a chance. The US and Russia have been leaving debris for more than 50 years before China ever got started.

      http://www.space.com/3415-china-anti-satellite-test-worrisome-debris-cloud-circles-earth.html

China tested anti satellite missiles etc, so they caught up pretty fast. Happened to be their own satellites to test, but the debris is still there.

Yes, I am quite aware of that. but that is not nearly half of all space debris.

cross out percentage from my original post and put amount

All satellite collisions spew huge amounts of debris. And do you think there is not some up there from US and russia anti sattelite missile tests?

It's likely, but I haven't read anything on it

That would be because it happened before you were born. The Star Wars program was a scary thing.

I vaguely remember hearing about that. This is one of those things that retracts from my studying, but I'll read up on it anyway lol

Funny, someone mentioned that on SW just 20 minutes ago, too. Totally different conversation, though.

I am a rather large person 6'5" tall so I have large hands and my only compliant is the Logitech Trackballs have gotten smaller over the years and are now a little too small for my tastes.

@scottalanmiller said in Phoronix with another file system performance test, F2FS and brtfs.:

Remember that BtrFS like ZFS is designed for everything except performance. Being fast was never expected or intended to the goals of filesystems of these types. Anyone looking for performance from them is quite lost. They are "fast enough" for sure, but never were they expected to compete with traditional filesystems that do so much less.

While I generally agree, I'd hate to have btrfs or XFS as the backing storage for XenServer, even at small scale single server settings.

      But...

Why? Why do you feel that a tiny bit of filesystem performance is going to be a big deal in most cases? What is driving you to react in that way to it? XFS is super fast, the polar opposite of BtrFS. Why would you hate both? What would make you happy?

      Doh, meant ZFS, not XFS.

Considering how many people clamor to get ZFS or BtrFS for virtualization then rave about the performance, I think that the reaction proves the point - the performance never mattered in the first place 🙂

@scottalanmiller maybe is hw, or a problem with generic kernels, never tried to compile a personalizaed kernel :?

Servers wouldn't run on custom kernels, but they would rarely have USB either. Maybe that is all that it is, no USB on servers 🙂

So no USB keyboard or mouse..... while I get out of band management, this seems drastic.

Been decades since I had a keyboard on a server 🙂
