It's literally that simple. Both turn off whatever is talking on 80, and block 80 on the firewall, too.

They used to have a Linux driver page but took it down.

Depends where you work, usually this is set for government standards for example:

So theoretically if you work for the Government agency they will require you to choose certain protocols, and those profiles will make your life easier.

Id agree running a VM would make more sense at that point.

Yup. It's a bit of a joke. It makes Windows users feel like they are getting Linux even when there is no Linux there at all and nothing usefully to be done with it. It also doesn't perform up to par, not that you would expect it to. It's a really bad idea. Maybe it is a precursor to something useful, but I'm not holding my breath.

This is missing a few: Protected access for admin over all files & PC's, Visuals (graphs) , Easy to use interface.

Here is what I have so far for important features outside of the standard. Do you guys see anything that is more important than another?

The guide you're following tells you to create /etc/apt/sources.list.d/100-ubnt.list

Are you connected to this VM via PUTTY? If so do sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/100-ubnt.list then you can copy the records directly into the file.

ctrl + o to save the file and then ctrl + x to exit the file.

No idea. I litterally opened Oracle Virtual box and started my Controller.

OK...

type in ip addr find the IP address and then use putty to connect to this VM. Once your logged into the VM as "williamcombs" proceed with editing the file using nano.

Delete every record in the file, you've messed it up. Go to the start of each line and do ctrl + k that'll remove the records.

Nothing wrong with trying to figure things out - because with IT you never know what you will run into. -

Investing in technical knowledge that is well past its prime doesn't make a lot of sense though. Literally the answer to running into XP in the wild is update it to Windows 10 or a Linux distribution if that is viable.

@dustinb3403 I did what you said to do, then i realized i missed a step, cause i couldn't find the file he told me to, cause it wasn't exactly the same as he put into the post.
then i installed, and ran that command, just booted my VM.

I visited someone's home tonight that had two Unifi APs, one at either side of the house. Though one half the house had horrible connections. Turns out the second AP had no power. Reset connections, tada! AP back online and wifi is awesome!

@dafyre im doing the network+, so far so good. Really indepth and they explain it pretty well too.
