@scottalanmiller I got moderated on a Water Cooler thread for something stupid (verbally agreeing with a post instead of spicing it up)

I get that a lot. If someone wants something buried so that people don't notice broad support for it, they do that. I've had big posts where I provided a lot of info but accidentally included "I agree" somewhere in it and got nuked for "agreeing."

There is one particular moderator I dislike alot, all of his posts come across as smug.

@scottalanmiller All the cable companies where I live will support any DOCSIS 3.0 compatible modem. I just go buy the one I want.

@scottalanmiller They put a big that expanded inside to protect the polyglass window during shipping, but the graphics card ripped the bag open while it was expanding (my theory)... so pissed right now.

How many companies have domain admins AND don't use WSUS/SCCM?

A fair number in the SMB and climbing because of the move away from WSUS in small environments to peer to peer.

I don't use WSUS in my environment. I spent more time managing it then I do from fixing bad updates from MS.

The flooding of the market is really causing problems. The market is absolutely full of bodies, but not full of trained or experienced ones.

I can attest to this. I went through an A+ class with an excellent teacher (had us working in software and hardware and he really knew his stuff -- I was just in it for the cert)... At the end of the class, those that had no desire to learn still couldn't tell the difference between USB and PS/2.

I had a similar experience. We had a guy in A+ class (this was in highschool) there the entire semester, couldn't do anything with a computer, still passed the A+ test. Thats when I determined that the cert tests were pretty much worthless since you could just study for the test and have no practical skill to back it up.

For the air gun, i think you are going to need one with a small tank on it... you may have a hard time finding a compressor with a tank in that price range.

I went to Spiceworld for the first time last year, when I heard they had 400+ employees I was shocked that it was that many... I didn't think there was any way they could make enough money to support a workforce that big doing what they did.

He thinks "biamped" speakers are equivalent to redundant servers / HA.

I'm glad we are talking about longer/more in depth sessions. This year was my first year to attend spice world and I was a little disappointed in the breakout sessions. I was hoping there would be more in depth topics. Also a couple of the sessions I went to the speaker spoke nothing about the topic they were supposed to.
