    • RE: Has Windows 10 VDI Licensing changed yet?

So you prefer terminal services over VDI?

Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 Terminal Services was my favorite setup for about 95% of all my needs. 2012 forced a lot of extra setup steps and the start menu killed it for me.

      Hoping 2016 is better

    • RE: Has Windows 10 VDI Licensing changed yet?

I am most interested in terminal services. I have a couple use cases for light Auto-Cad and thought I would give it a try. Have ran CAD on terminal services before well enough for viewing, but I thought Windows 10 in a VDI might offer some graphics benefits.

    • Has Windows 10 VDI Licensing changed yet?

Looking at running Server 2016 RDSH (Terminal Server) for a small 10 person deployment. I keep reading about new options to run Server as a guest VDI, but has Windows 10 VDI changed so that you can purchase licenses in small quantities?

I see $32 VDI licenses for Windows 10 Pro and I dont closely following Microsoft licensing. I have always been a big Terminal Server fan, up until 2012 implemented the ridiculous full screen start menu.

    • ODfB - does it still sync only to sharepoint libraries?

Looking at using OneDrive for Business vs current Dropbox Pro for business.

Does onedrive still have an inferior sync setup that requires sharepoint libraries, or is that just a bonus feature now?

I saw the sync limits were removed but haven't seen a lot of praises about the product. Would seem like an obvious choice given the use of Office 365.

For about 200GB of shared data do you recommend or should I stay away?

    • RE: Office365 Domains

      @BRRABill said in Office365 Domains:

We have an Office365 account set up. We are either Business Essentials (for just e-mail) or Business Premium (for e-mail and apps).

The main domain is domain.onmicrosoft.com We can log into that fine.

We also have domain.com set up.

I am currently the only user on the system, but want to start adding other shortly for various reasons, and eventually want to move the whole company over for e-mail and apps.

Right now, my e-mail goes to our on-premises MDaemon server, which forwards it to [email protected]

When I decide I want to move everyone over, will there (should there) be any issues with making a total jump to Office365?

As I did something similar recently I would recommend using the hybrid mail routing. You can have mailboxes on 0365 and your premise server without having Exchange as your premise server.

Skimming through the replies I didnt see this mentioned.

@tm1000 said in FreePBX 14 Release Candidate is out:

This is Zulu now and customers are using the chat functionality. It's not internal. Not sure why it would matter if it was an internal Beta Edition anyways.

Matters because I want to know if Zulu is worth checking out today.

BTW @tm1000 I signed up for an RMS beta and its turned out to be pretty cool. Havent seen any pricing other than the beta in the portal though. Is it currently for sale?

@bigbear said in Transfer Failed on 38G Phones with FreePBX:

Good thought. It did still fail from both soft phones.

Deleteing extension and recreated as CHAN_SIP, still fails.

I get nothing related to the registration attempt in that phone.

Now working from a different phone. I must not have CHAN_SIP allowed through responsive firewall. But this site is "Local" using the updated firewall terminology and the responsive firewall is enabled for CHAN_SIP.

Change to trusted. And then make sure the IP is not already in the blacklist

Though its not the correct config I had it in trusted from the other week when I messing around.

I know I am missing some setting on my installation because the asterisk log isnt even showing the attempt to connect.

In the firewall I have responsive firewall enabled but also SIP (chan_sip_ set to local). Its a default installation so its shows port 5160 UDP for chan_sip, configured the phone the same port 5160.

@JaredBusch Do you use 5160 for CHAN_SIP on the phone when you switch to chan_sip?

I am going to go dig out a Yealink 48G.

How long before they rename it Sangoma FreePBX?

The admin portal already reminds me of Godaddy with all of its banner ad articles.

Something I was discussing with someone the other day. If you don't purchase their System Admin module how do you update?

    • RE: Transfer Failed on 38G Phones with FreePBX

I'm attempting to switch back to CHAN_SIP for my 38G Yealink due to some other odd behaviors.

I use the "switch driver" option under advanced in extensions. I enter new credentials and change to port 5160 on the Yealink. I get Registration Failed. Asterisk Log kicks out this...

      [2017-03-30 09:09:57] NOTICE[2130] chan_sip.c: Registration from '"Test" sip:[email protected]:5160' failed for 'x.x.x.x:16144' - Wrong password
      [2017-03-30 09:09:58] NOTICE[2130] chan_sip.c: Registration from '"Test" sip:[email protected]:5160' failed for 'x.x.x.x:16144' - Wrong password

I copied the sip secret again, and even defaulted the phone and reconfigured it manually and still get the same error on the phone and in asterisk.

Do I have to delete the extension and recreate it entirely?

Honestly I can't believe how far Zoho has come since 2009 when I last used it. Now if they would only change the daycare looking logo of theirs. Their product interfaces are modern and attractive but their website product icons and logo are very off-putting.

@stacksofplates yeah that's what I was getting at.

Is the outlook plugin as good as exchange?

I did get confirmation from support that I can open a new 365 account and remove domain, wait an hour, add domain to new account.

    • RE: RS Mail vs Office 365

@stacksofplates Was actually looking at Zoho's udpated email interface and curious as to whether my few Windows users would have MAPI or IMAP for Outlook. But alas it seems you can not mix the plans (yet).

@scottalanmiller Does Zimbra have actual MAPI support?
