      So I did this test:

      C:\>ping -f -l 1473 208.73.144.1

Pinging 208.73.144.1 with 1473 bytes of data:

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
          Minimum = 79ms, Maximum = 79ms, Average = 79ms

Then I set the MTU on the SonicWall down to 1472 since that was the largest that worked. When I test now, it's 28 bits lower. Is that to be expected, or is something wrong? Should the BLF thing be resolved?

What you are doing thus far is common with adsl and firewalls.

What is the BLF issue? What phone and platform?

Right, good ol... ping -f -l xxxx to the sip server up address, xxxx being the mtu size. Lower and raise til you find the correct size that replies below the integer that doesn’t.

Pretty common wherever early adsl existing behind a firewall that added header for SPI.

      @mike-davis said in MTU size > 1500:

I have a VoIP provider that wants me to set the MTU size on the outbound interface of my firewall to 65507. What are the ramifications if I go beyond 1500? I understand their VoIP system may be able to handle fragmented UDP packets, but does that create the potential to mess anything else up?

I feel like this is a miscommunication. For Level 2 switching you cant exceed 1500, 1518 actually and 18 bytes for overhead.

If there is additional overhead then you would need to set a smaller MTU size to ensure you aren't exceeding the threshold. Not the other way around. Is the VOIP service delivered over VPN, the only cause I can think of here.

Dell, HP, Fujitsu, whatever you prefer.

Have you ever bought Fujitsu? They always seem good by the specs and price.

I don't believe these are available in the US anymore are they?

      I've never seen that happen.

Is everything up to date and are your plugins / widgets compatible with your WordPress version?

If so, is it an issue with the widget or a template issue? Might it be a layout issue, where different screen sizes may potentially hide or mess it it up?

They were just gone, occured last year and I noticed but was too lazy too fix. Now that I am working on all the pages to move from the single page to a full website I noticed they kept disappearing.

Only a huge deal because I am using them for buttons like "sign-up" and for actual contact info in the footer. So looks kind of bad.

That was brilliant, how mad them rockets landing back down where they wanted. Normally the rockets are destroyed on re-entry??

NOt for SpaceX. They have been landing them for years now.

I wasn't aware of this to be fair, don't normally follow, but still amazing to say the least, should imagine they can do more flights saving the rockets.

Every rocket that lands successfully saves tens of millions if not more on than larger ones. And the scale of a 10+ story building landing is something else as well...

    • Dialpad.com Free now Nationwide

So just as I am submitting Android/iOS apps to the app store Dialpad takes this nationwide.

      https://www.dialpad.com/free

Previously it was for San Fran numbers only and you had to have a G Suite Account.

I just signed up to see whats what, here is what you get

      • 5 free extensions, one free local number
      • Sign up with email, G Suite or 0365 now
      • You can add an Obi1000 IP Phone or Obi300 ATA to each extension
      • It appears you can add free "room phones" for break your etc
      • I had to agree they could contact me via phone or email about their products

I will find out soon enough whether they bother me with one phone call or harass me to death.

Its a really strong sales move but if 1 in 10 people end up buying service I would imagine it is worth it.

It’s 4 footer widgets all just image or text, and they all just dissapear every day. And now a sign up and login button in the top right. No fancy things except the twitter widget which is the only one that doesn’t go away.

Having an issue with widgets disappearing from my business site. Some of which link to sign up forms and present key contact info. Have had new customers point it out to me almost every week.

Has anyone ever had this problem with wordpress or a provider? Its Envato. They seem dubious to the cause. I would guess a database issue.

People are actively resigning from positions due to the amount of insanity that is taking place.

Think about that too, what about under served markets? Where are there no programs to bolster small ISP's to build out in rural areas?

There were programs at the federal and state levels. NYS offered a silly amount of money to ISPs to expand. They took the money and pocketed it. The AG is suing right now for failure to hold up their end of the bargain.

There was also the lifeline, I think that's what it was called, program to help rural and poor people pay for access to the internet. I think that could have been expanded... but it wasn't and instead has been cut back tremendously.

We've never experienced anything like that (KY, OH, IN)

Else I would be in a different business still...
