That was brilliant, how mad them rockets landing back down where they wanted. Normally the rockets are destroyed on re-entry??

NOt for SpaceX. They have been landing them for years now.

I wasn't aware of this to be fair, don't normally follow, but still amazing to say the least, should imagine they can do more flights saving the rockets.

OK guys, so now we have an option (theoretically) to ship 50 tons of stuff to the orbit.
If you would have an opportunity to do so, what would you bring 150km high? IT-related, of course

The launch had it's good,.. and sadly it's bad. But for a test flight - it was a solid success in the eyes of many.
The twin boosters landed as planned, however in reading about the later time markers, the center core didn't land as planned:
Five things to know about Falcon Heavy
Third booster’s failure to land
Whilst the two side boosters re-landed without a hitch, the third, core booster was a different story. As SpaceX confirmed in a press conference, the booster only managed to relight one of the three engines needed for it to land. This meant it hit the water at 300 mph, close to the drone ship where it was supposed to land. In fact, the crash happened so close to the drone ship that it took out two of the ship’s engines. -

They lose the drone feed in a good portion of the successful drone ship landings too just because of interference.

I haven't followed every launch / recovery - but as they were streaming yesterday it was mentioned as to the reason(s):
- Turbulence - due to the engine thrust the antennas 'flop' around causing signal degradation and loss.
- Ocean spray - pretty sure that the sea 'chop' can cause issues as well from natural swells and then added thrust generating spray.
- 'Splash Down' a miss saves the drone ship but generates spray and debris which can damage or obscure the cameras or antennas

Every rocket that lands successfully saves tens of millions if not more on than larger ones. And the scale of a 10+ story building landing is something else as well...
