Enjoying digging into the Zed Shaw Python book.

How is this going, if you have this must interest you must have always been a developer at heart!

It's fun. With Thanksgiving and today (since we get the Friday after off), I've treated myself to this and actually playing some Everquest again (after a month's drought).

I do enjoy creating [things.] Much of the enjoyment from teaching came from creating music with the kids. I can remember when I wrote my little scripts for creating Exchange Online users, there was much joy with experimenting, breaking, and triumph.

My grandpa was a teacher and got me programming when I was 8, so I can definitely see how that personality profile would fit.

Something to check out is Crystal https://crystal-lang.org/

I have always liked Ruby and this just seems to be the next levelof that. Its fairly new but hundreds of contributors.

VOIP Supply actually ships a lot of Yealink from Texas as they are just reselling another distributors inventory. Because of that they arent the best price I have seen out there either. Baltic is probably better.

Also noticing Spectrum in my area is suddenly upgrading speeds to 200mb and even 400mb x 20mb for free! Just over the past week.

My dad got that UBNT Amplifi unit and the speedtest kept saying 200mb, so he thought it was wrong.

This all immediately following Net Neutrality bill? Whats the catch?

It's a Trojan horse right before they throttle all of your content. Either that or they think you're cute and are trying to butter you up.

You know, my wifi has been crashing for the past 24 hours... its all just a conspiracy to sell more UBNT #deepstate

They just want to be physically connected with you ❤

All a plot to sell more FrontRow Cameras, sold out for months I assume, havent seen a single person wearing one yet...

We like them and they are local to us here in the Niagara region.

I just don't believe all these big companies have such big hearts that they there isnt some other reach around going on for some other agenda.

Meanwhile, why did the two closest Burger Kings disappear on me in the last 12 months? Now I gotta drive all the way to Springboro to get Whopper. They were also the fastest Burger Kings.

Having dealt with RDSH and understanding multipoint server I dont know why Microsoft insists on using these USB terminals.

RDSH would be much more ideal, running in the cloud. But 16Gb of RAM is only good for 10 to 15 every day users, from what I have experienced. He would need 64GB of RAM and hella good SSD disk configuration for the i/o.

The CPU share does amazingly well.

But yeah he is looking for a miracle. The more chrome/web/video you do the more demand on the system as well.

They do support FreePBX via their ticket system and you get a couple free modules, one of which just became more expensive.

      But Vultr has been great...

Though the insurance thing do it, but why would drive the prices of insurance up?

Insurance on self driving will plummet as there is almost never a fault to pay out on. Insurance for those intentionally being risky will skyrocket as there is less and less excuse for it.

I am expecting self driving cars to start including the insurance, did you see Volvo's new "Care" plan.

Still cant figure out if its financing or just a rental agreement...

@jaredbusch said in Sangoma Buys Digium:

Interesting to see the financials of Digium. Fiscal 2017 net loss of $4million. Most recent quarter breakeven.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sangoma expects to pay a total purchase price of US$28 million on a debt-free and cash-free basis, subject to customary working capital adjustments. The purchase price consists of US$24.3 million in cash and 3,943,025 Sangoma common shares (representing US$3.7 million based on a ten (10) day volume weighted average price of $1.2214 per common share). Digium generated approximately US$30 million in revenue in its fiscal year ended December 31, 2017, with consolidated assets (net of cash) of approximately US$11 million, no debt and a net loss of approximately US$4 million. Further, for the most recently completed quarter ending June 30, 2018, Digium is operating at about EBITDA breakeven.

Their internal offerings weren't that good, and they don't "make" anything themselves which didn't make a lot of sense.

I though Digium used to make some cards for FXO/FXS.

But yeah in more recent history, their only product has only been Switchvox, and some (I assume) rebranded phones.

Switchvox looked so futuristic about 10 years ago when I was selling Allworx phone systems. Feels like it hasnt been updated at all since then. Have always liked their phones myself but they also need an update. I hope this goes somewhere fruitful.

The biggest thing would be whether they maintain two product lines or merge teams/products. With 3CX upsetting all of their resellers and going direct to customers it is interesting times.

Would be really cool if ML had a weekly cast like vuc.me with other people chiming in

We could use Zoom.us for a video meeting or something.

Hrm, no Spreed.me server running in the lab? Seems easy to setup, just haven't gotten around to it myself yet.

Can you H264 in using that?

What's the video encoding have to do with anything? So long as the computer has access to a camera, it works. Or are you referring to a video phone? Likely just need to be able to follow a link to join on any device.

Yeah, to dial in from video phone all lazy-like

I had a billing issue once where I was waiting for the new biz credit card and didnt want to pay with my personal card. If you call, on the phone, and explain to billing support, they will keep you active.

In my case I called after the expired period, they had me back online for another full 30 days.

@ivan-palii I ponder what the hell is going on with youtube. For example, at least a week ago there were only 2 or 3 videos regarding Yealink T5 series phones. I cant imagine NO ONE else has uploaded a video with some tags to the new models, unboxing them etc.

I was actually going to upload some video myself (since I am going to be distributing/reselling yealink and was curious to see how long I would take to get to the top results.
