My youngest had more scrambled eggs than she wanted, so I ate those, cold.

I think we are making Irish pasties for dinner tonight, assuming we can find some ground lamb.

We've gotten pretty good at hand pies. GF is good with the pastry, I make the fillings. And there are styles from 'round the globe we haven't made yet.

The filling would be easy, it's that long, Wellington shape that makes it hard to cook right. I've done a full tilt beef Wellington before, turned out ok but it's hard to avoid the soggy bottom.

Soggy bottom is tough. I've had a perfect root veggie (rutabaga) in Stratford upon Avon at the local pub, it was amazing.

you know... now that I think about it. I don't think i've had rutabaga either. Then again I was raised on traditional Mexican food. Like "from the rancho".

Ruabaga or "Swede" are delicious. Similar to a turnip or potato. But better flavour.

I think maybe they don't grow as well in GA, so they are far less prevalent than taters or parsnips.

I think we are making Irish pasties for dinner tonight, assuming we can find some ground lamb.

                                      Oh nice.

We've gotten pretty good at hand pies. GF is good with the pastry, I make the fillings. And there are styles from 'round the globe we haven't made yet.

I want to learn to make a great root veggies wellington.

I can honestly say I've never tried rutabaga. I'm a big fan of root veggies in general, might have to try some.

you know... now that I think about it. I don't think i've had rutabaga either. Then again I was raised on traditional Mexican food. Like "from the rancho".

Ruabaga or "Swede" are delicious. Similar to a turnip or potato. But better flavour.

the first time i had seen a rutabaga was in this scene lol
