      That I like.

      Shows Firefox using about 15%MEM

How often are you restarting FF? On Korora I found that it could not be left on for more than one day.

The system as a whole has only been running 1:4:3:00 - I restarted FF this morning after @dafyre made mention of it.

I mentioned the other day that you needed to restart it regularly 😉

Guess this is my first complaint about running Korora as a Daily PC.

      Screenconnect

Seems that every session started for control it has to redownload the application to start IceWeasel. Also, the SC session windows is totally different than under Windows.

      0_1499694609540_Screenshot from 2017-07-10 09-43-27.png

That's not a complaint of Korora, but of ScreenConnect. Why did they make it different on Java? No idea.

      Ok, got it fixed.
I was treating the allocation like I would in Hyper-V, KVM is slightly different.
      https://superuser.com/questions/1166955/memory-allocation-never-change-for-my-virtual-machine

Setting the Current & Max allocation to the same amounts, 8 or 16, fixed things up.

Its called Fedora Media Writer and it is awesome.

Yes that's it. I use it on Windows too.

The test with Gecko Linux is working great. No issues like before, sleep works fine. Fingers crossed, but it looks good.

It's looking so good, I might switch my desktop!

Are you using static or rolling version?
Have you tried the cinnamon version?

Rolling (based on Tumbleweed), and no, not in this case.

I just face palmed reading that first paragraph:
      New features
      LVM RAID support
One of the biggest features of blivet-gui 2.0 is support of LVM RAID. When adding a new LV, you can now choose RAID level for it. LVM supports the same RAID types mdraid does but you can choose different level for every logical volume so it's more flexible than using LVM on top of an mdraid.

LVM still uses md raid, just like you would normally.

That said, people like their gui for all the things, why not have yet another tool to manage everything.

So to completely answer the question I posited.

      Install ibus-anthy

      dnf -y install ibus-anthy

Next run input selector from the CLI or GUI.

      0_1495549633007_upload-1ea06f93-cb6f-427c-8886-ed7a19c8279f

Change the Input method from "No Input Method" to "IBus"
      0_1495549692864_upload-a5e64fb0-1322-4b81-b3ee-671e4520bff9

Note, the preferences link here does NOT work for me.

Log out and back in, and you will see the language selector up by the clock in the tray.

      0_1495549958212_upload-3359ebb2-a45f-450c-a35e-2ef1e318ee6c

      Right click and choose preferences.
      0_1495549999445_upload-e4fa99c7-bc1a-4758-87cb-ae8e36722bae

Switch to the Input Method tab and click Add.
      0_1495550040150_upload-c98af063-de99-4348-a3e6-165bd59d3f66

Select the language you want to add.
      0_1495550072443_upload-602a1475-8934-456d-ace0-23c9396be86d

Select the input type for the language. In this case we want Anthy in order to get the Romaji entry of the Kana.

As a side note, my wife does not use the Kana Kanji input method. I am not sure how many Japanese actually use that input method. The one time I put my laptop into that mode, she could not type.
      0_1495550099006_upload-07b4232e-aa21-40f7-ab9f-834a08abc418

After adding Anthy, you can click prefernces and make any custom changes you want.

      0_1495550270252_upload-faeb12de-b3d8-47e9-8ff4-91ffe62d456f

The other thing you will want to do is setup a key combo to switch languages.
I like the alt + backtick (grave)
Click the button after the next method and setup whatever key combo you want.

Okay, I signed in and then closed the lid.

Light was showing standby. I left it for about 45 minutes. opened lid. Keyboard lights came on but the screen did not come back up. Pressing keys does nothing. Pressing power button does nothing. hard power cycle required to power on.

So, seems to be the same issue.

Does it happen when using Korora 25 Gnome?

I have not installed anything else.

      It's working thus far -

I went to SKYPE and installed the RPM and installed signed in with no trouble.

I'm still on the LIVE USB version, but happy that it's there. A bit easier when I have a full keyboard/mouse to work with.

Looking at dual boot configurations / process now.

The web app is often better, if you have issues, just switch to the web version.

I should have mentioned it before,.. but I did try to use the Web,.. it was trying to do some type of account merge of my MS and Gmail account - some weirdness. And never 'worked'. Of course since I'm here at it,.. I can give it another go and see what it comes up with.

Oh yes, MS is doing some weird new account stuff that is a bit of a problem.

This time It didn't - so much have finished even though I cancelled it, quit and powered off....

Ah nice. This will be a nice change.

Moved Telegram folder to /opt and then edited (created) /usr/share/applications/Telegram.desktop

      [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Name=Telegram Exec=/opt/Telegram/Telegram Icon=/opt/Telegram/telegram128.png Type=Application Categories=Network;

I had to go download telegram128.png separately. Also annoying.
Google gave me this site to get it. http://deshack.net/install-telegram-for-linux-as-an-application/

      Looks like I have KDE.

I did not actually pick one. I simply clicked download, so I randomly got KDE.

      Now to switch to Cinnamon.

Oh. I respect the KDE team a lot but I've not been comfortable with their desktop post version 3. It's solid and loaded with features but the Plasma stuff is weird and not intuitive. If you go "power user" on it I'm sure it's great. But for me, I left it as I'm a more casual style desktop user and it just didn't fit with me.

I think that they decided that the market was full and that they needed to really innovate to be relevant, which they did. It's interesting and someday I hope to have time to dig into it more.

Ya I don't see the use of the plasma workspaces. I use the traditional workspaces a ton in Gnome 3, but I don't see the value to what plasma does with them. I tried having a separate "business" vs "personal" workspace a while ago and just couldn't wrap my head around the use case.

Same here. The old style desktops I used and liked. Plasma I just can't figure out.
