Here's a new one to me.

      Samsung local desktop laser printer.

We can print from Word and other local applications, but we can't print from IE. Right clicking on the page and choosing print yields no action (we have the 'What's printing' dialog box open and it never flickers, etc).

I had to stop working on it so I decided to post here while I wait until I can continue.

We've already done an IE browser Reset, reboot - not solved.

We can print to a different printer via IE - works.

Next thing I'm going to try is removing the printer completely and reinstalling it.

Past experience with issues similar to this is that it is not the printer. If you can print from MS Word, Wordpad, Notepad or print a test page, it's not a driver or printer issue.

Have you attempted to print from another browser to this printer. You say it is local, share it and see if another computer can print to it.

I also don't believe this is a printer issue, as it prints from Word just fine... I'm sure this is a browser issue.
We only use IE in this office - our primary web app requires it and as such we don't bother with other browsers as users will become confused as to what to use where.

Did it ever print from IE or not?

Has anything changed since then? IE patches? Software changes? Printer changes?

It's a local printer, so this issue is isolated to a single machine?

Yep isolated to this machine and user... this particular one is very troubled!

Isolated to the user? So if another user logs into the machine the printing from IE works?

Isolated to the machine AND user? Have you tried from another User Profile on that machine?
