Korora/Fedora 25: list of useful apps
-
This is tough to answer because we all use different things. I install external tools like NextCloud Client and Rocket Chat client, but that's about it. Other than that, things like the file manager I use is just the default.+
-
Most stuff comes pre-loaded... so the list is pretty small. I mostly stick to the defaults. I like to install (in addition to what's already pre-installed): - Visual Studio Code + PowerShell Debugger (manage windows stuff from Linux powershell)
- Chrome (so much smoother than firefox)
- Glances
- Wireshark
- TeamViewer
- Veeam Agent for Linux Free
- qemu/KVM (for Win10 VM to manage Windows network (RSAT))
Nothing more at the moment, but I'll add later if others come up.

I add Chrome too, but use FF as my main browser.

I've used FF as my main browser for so long... and I tried out Chrome the other day because it was giving me issues on a lot of websites... one example, here on ML. When you click the vertical ... to edit your post, you don't get a drop down and have to use arrow keys. Got so annoying. I tried Chrome, problem solved. Chrome also made everything else much better, even the way it looks in Linux is better, such as the book marks bar and everything. On Windows I use Edge 99% of the time, no issues.

- Nextcloud

-
@Tim_G Oh, PowerShell Core 6.0 so my first post makes sense.
-
Oh yes, I have Telegram, too.
-
 - Gnome Screenshot or Shutter
- Google Chrome, Opera, Firefox
- Atom
- Visual Studio Code

Chrome, Atom, Shutter, Inkscape, Telegram. If I'm on Gnome 3 I install a few extensions: dropdown terminal, dash to dock, caffeine, the screen recorder one (can't remember the name), coverflow, and I turn on applications and places menus. Used to use Moka icons but switched to Papirus.

Themes look good. Didn't see any Applets, Desklets or whatever that seemed like things that I would want.

I looked at the landing page and decided none of it is interesting. I am not a theme person really. I like a changing background, but that is about it. The rest can rot. Widget are just f***ing stupid.

Yeah, things running on my desktop space is really weird. I never look at the desktop.

Yeah, I see it when the system boots

I do not run ANYTHING full screen except my Windows 10 KVM on workspace 2. And that is only a single monitor.
I hate full screen.I stack stuff around. So I always see some piece of the background some place.
