@Minion-Queen - I agree with you. I suggested doing this for them originally but the $$$ seems to be an issue.

When a client is picky about their solution. I give them 3 options, pricing for said options and all that each include. They pick what they want.

It's the whole do you want Cheap, Working or Cheap?? 😛

Again I know I can throw together a FreePBX solution for them, I was just looking for something that looked quick and easy that they can self manage.

FreePBX is quick and easy. What they can self manage, that I can't speak to. But define "self manage", they can call NTG to make changes. Any secretary or receptionist can do that. It's fully managed so no internal tech skills needed.

What about someone like RingCentral that charges per user?

              +1 for FreePBX .. it's popular, and has a strong community ..

If you're looking for options, other than FreePBX, have you looked @ XiVO ? It's been around for quite sometime now ..

I'm looking for the exact same thing to replace an aging Avaya setup. Some of these players are coming up:

                8x8
                ooma
                RingCentral
                3CX
                1-VoIP

Create a VoIP.ms account and set everything up there. it can all be done with time conditions and IVRs.

The only monthly fee you will have is the DID and usage.

For the calling from some number, VoIP.ms has callback similar to grasshopper or full DISA

                          3CX
                          1-VoIP

These players really depend on exactly what you are after. I find that most people do not really need to pay the premium to use these services.

Also you are mixing things in that list. 8x8 and RingCentral are your big name hosted phone service providers. 1-VoIP is an up and comer. Ooma, is crap.

3CX is a PBX like FreePBX, expect it runs on Windows. There are people hosting it and reselling it of course just like people host and resell FreePBX.

Sure. Well it's pretty much the same question, but since only FreePBX was mentioned, I wondered about other common players.

Deciding on a phone system is certainly a unique discussion for every company. It is never "the same" no matter how similar it sounds.

Interesting...I didn't know that voip.ms had all those features. I have only briefly looked at flowroute.

We are trialing phone.com and so far it's not bad. The pricing is a little unclear. I initially contacted sales to confirm how pricing works and was told the exact opposite of how it actually works.
