Yes, the ported the Mach kernel to the FreeBSD ecosystem. But the bulk of the code is from FreeBSD, not from Next/Mach. The OSX project started long after both FreeBSD and Next were established. That Next was older isn't really a big deal. OSX was much later. At the time, around 1999, they made a big deal that it was mostly FreeBSD with the Mach kernel swapped out for the old kernel.

Not totally unlike the Dragonfly project. Based on FreeBSD but taking the kernel in a different direction.

I love the concept of the one device and I have been waiting for this for several years. By the time that I start looking for a new phone (about two years away), then I should be able to afford it.
 
I see it as very helpful for the road warriors and anyone who hot desks.

I am not surprised, Chromebooks are so cheap, stateless and easy to use. I can only imagine that it would be pretty tough for a school to really want to do anything else.

I have 3 ZeroTier networks set up. It works great. They do have a bridging function, but it might only be for the Windows client as I turned it on with a Linux machine, but it didn't do anything. If you are using a Linux box, you can just set up the static routes like normal and use it as a bridge that way.
@dafyre set up a php script and bash script for hosting your own controller. They both work really well.

It's a part of the Office 365 suite currently.

I actually tested the install on my work computer. There was no additional licensing that had to be dealt with. Download from the 365 portal and call it done.
