      At NTG we are pure Windows. There were a few Macs for a bit but they phased out. I oversee Grove Social which is pure Mac, but very small. And now at Change it is nearly 100% Mac but I am an end user there, not in IT.

      The case is cool. I was very intrigued by the development tablet they showed. If it has the same scratch/impact resistance of the original screen that would be awesome.

      This is stupid. It's not LinkedIn's fault...they can't control every stupid action of every employee.

      I agree, the idea is good, just having a product installed one way turn into "third party" products after the install is done is confusing.

      To clarify, the Calendar and Contacts are not third party, just handled the same as third party apps by the code now. So they now have their own update cycle available separate from the core app.

      I love both PC-BSD and Cinnamon. Just wish that they would get this polished and fully stable. Could really be awesome. Although, I hear, PC-BSD is working on a native desktop to really help the BSD desktop ecosystem compete as Linux desktops have deep ties into the Linux ecosystem.

      Hope this gets more traction than the last three iterations. But with DirectX 12 coming with full Tesselation support, I don't see how OpenGL can possibly keep up...

      Good to hear, I did an update release not too long ago and the difference was night and day. I will look into doing this one now.

      You've been on iPhone so long I wonder if this is really an issue?

      Just over a year. Not all that long. But does anyone actually provide support for a rooted phone? Do you get them replaced when things don't work? Like if I have a battery issue I expect a new phone. If I root the phone, will that still happen?

      Yes. Rooting a phone in no way voids manufacturer warranties or support from the carrier.

      I used to use an ISP that charged by the bit. People bitched and moaned about it because they thought bandwidth was free. Yeah, it cost a tiny bit more to use them, but I had one hop to the InterNAP backbone. 10ms lag to games, always available bandwidth, always good. This is where ISPs are gonna have to go to limit dumbasses leaving Netflix on all day long and not watching it.

      @JaredBusch said:

      It was pretty obvious. ISPs should charge for usage, then people would see how it really works all the way to their pocketbook.

      I'll admit that I skipped his last paragraph - the rant bored me before I got to the real meat of his post :).

      But to the point that I quoted above, why do they need to go to a pay per bit method? If they are not making enough money selling you the 50 meg unlimited they claim they are currently selling you... uhhhh.. guess what.. they need to raise their rates.. this seems pretty cut and dry. Sure if you want to really make people use less bandwidth start charging by the bit and showing people real usage and cost, but if bandwidth really isn't an issue (I certainly don't know if it is or not) but they aren't making enough to cover the 50 meg they are selling me.. then raise the damned rates. Considering today's lack of competition setup there isn't anywhere for someone to go.. so they are pretty safe...
