This Promotion is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States including the District of Columbia (β€œU.S.”), and the region encompassing Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (β€œEMEA”), who are eighteen (18) years of age or older (or have reached the legal age of contract majority in their state of residence if older) at the time of entry and who physically reside in the U.S. or in EMEA at time of entry and prize award.

No love for your northern brothers? 😞

Normally the case is that Canada doesn't love its own citizens and blocks these things.

      Any business deals? πŸ˜‰

      Just the normal ones:
      https://www.amazon.com/Webroot-Business-Endpoint-Protection-2016-/dp/B00FQT6SQU
and you can beat that with the SpiceHead discount page:
      http://www.webroot.com/us/en/business/spiceworks

Sorry that the deal is gone already - I'll try to catch it earlier next time.

Wow, this is kind of right along the lines of what I've been researching on remote extensions...

One of the things that we routinely do is to block all non-free calling so even if our extension, PBX or platform were to be hacked, even if they gained access to our SIP trunk, they can't rack up long distance calls or whatever.

@scottalanmiller Yeah, I was using "Brain Drain" in the more general sense of departure of expertise for any reason, not just poaching, although that can be a common cause.

They did this for the sole reason that this was the only way to continue providing their solutions based on the legacy vendors and their lock out and lack of access.

Not sure where this information came from.
PernixData, SanDisk’s Flashsoft, and ScaleIO have all used kernel modules with vSphere...

The reason these vendors use VSA's is a combination of factors, largest of which writing kernel code is hard...

      https://1password.com/families/ A new option from 1Password; $5per month for a family of 5

I haven't heard of that one yet. I might try it and write an article since it's ony $5. I would like to get my gf on it.

But $5 a month is $60 a year. Which is 2.5 times the $12 x 2 price for LastPass for my wife and myself..

$5 covers upto 5 members, and each member can install the app on any number of devices. Each user gets their own password vault too.
And you can invite as many family members as you need for an additional $1 per person/month.

If you dont want to go with a subscription based pricing model, you can also choose the one time fee standalone version which is what i've been using for several years.

@PSX_Defector said in Scale Computing Brings First Fully Featured Sub-$25,000 Flash Solution to SMB Market:

SATA is perfectly fine for 90% of what people do. It's the 8% that need something more that would need SAS based while the last 2% will need PCI-E performance.

With numbers like those, ML seems like an odd place to be talking/worrying about it. Also, are the last 10% really looking at a Scale Cluster? I suppose some percentage of them might be.

90% of what people do, not 90% of people. It's a much higher percentage of people. That's why the Scale HC3 tiering system is such a good fit, we believe. It allows the majority of your storage to be tuned to sit on the SATA drives, which are perfectly fast enough for 90% of your needs, and lets the 10% of your needs that need to be on high performance SSD to sit there without needing two different solutions.

And with our heat mapping technology we help to tune the workloads for what is used rather than forcing you to pick manually for all workloads. You can override this with manual priorities, but on its own it self tunes.

So our hope is that the 90/10 split which is a good way to think of it actually makes Scale ideal for the majority of users because they have the 90/10 mix rather than in spite of it.

It's all ethernet, so you could mix it together on a single switch and just VLAN them apart from each other.

I'm trying to be blunt. πŸ™‚

Do I need a switch at all for the backplane or can they communicate directly? Do I need to factor in 10GigE switches for redundancy as well?

Did we manage to answer your questions?
