Does Chime offer inbound numbers from outside of the US? Might be a good place to use them.

      From their site:

Q: What countries does Amazon Chime Business Calling support for telephone numbers?

We currently support United States phone numbers only. Additional countries will be supported in the future.

I'm struggling to find real pricing on their page. I'm sure the service is generally fine. But without a compelling value, and I see nothing on the site of any value specifically, the bigger players like Skyetel, Twilion, and voip.ms seem to have all of the functionality and experience, and I don't see a lower price here to make me want to go to an upstart at higher cost. It's certainly competitive and seems good overall, but not good enough to warrant choosing it, just keeping it as a second tier player.

Below is the link for Chime's pricing

      DID: $1.00

      Inbound Calling:
      United States of America $0.002216

      Outbound Calling:
United States of America $ 0.004800

I was just curious if anyone has tested Amazon Chime Business Calling recently. Pricing seems to come in at half of what Voip.ms charges.

So if half of voip.ms, that's still way, way over Skyetel. Just saying.

I know I've asked this previously but is Skyetel a better option than Voip.ms? Or do you still use Voip.ms as a failover option?

Haven't tried skyetel yet. Are their discounted rates for reseller signups only? I know there was a link somewhere on here for the signup.

I was just curious if anyone has tested Amazon Chime Business Calling recently. Pricing seems to come in at half of what Voip.ms charges. They also support t.38 faxing as well as call health monitoring. Seems like a nice feature for troubleshooting call issues. The only thing that looks like a negative is that there is no direct e911 service. You have to go through a third party to set that up. Also no mentioning of cnam fees if any.

Just another thought, I backup the server with Veeam Agent for Windows (free). If I installed Veeam Backup and Recovery, can I read the contents of my Agent backups? Then I could potentially use Veeam Explorer for Exchange to extract the contents?

      that should work.

Just a follow up, I was able to install Veeam Backup and Replication (Community) and imported my Veeam Agent for Windows (Free) in to it. I was then able to use Explorer for Exchange to mount the backup file and export the emails from the user to a PST.

@dbeato - Got it, makes sense. I'm going to give the Veeam Backup and Replication a shot just to see. Otherwise, I am going to have to restore the system to another VM and recover that way.

      Appreciate the feedback

@dbeato - Dumb question but if I enable litigation hold now it won't do me any good for this situation right? The retention period is set for 23,000 days. Does the retention period just say how long it will remain in recoverable items unless removed?

I think recovering the purged items is not going to be an option. While I had the retention for 23000 days, the singleitemrecoveryenabled was set to false.

So best bet I guess is restore the EDB and mount it as a recovery database and restore the whole user mailbox.

The retain deleted items is set for 23000.00:00:00
Not sure I follow all the different litigation hold settings and singleitemrecovery options.

    • Exchange 2013 - User deleted all emails - recovery options

We had a user delete all their emails and then purged everything from the recover deleted items option in Outlook. When a user purges, does that remove them permanently from the server or can I still recover them from Exchange Shell?

Or do I have to restore the database and recover from there?

      Thanks

    • RE: How to store PBX numbers with extension?

I believe on a smartphone you can store the number followed by a comma and then the extension number. The comma causes a pause and then completes the extension afterwards.

    • RE: Monitor Trunk Failures in FreePBX

@JaredBusch - Just curious would it be possible to then put something like an fwconsole reload for just the trunk? A lot of the times I find that going into the trunks and selecting submit/apply settings fixes the down trunk. In the documentation I only see an option for enable and disable.

      So maybe:

fwconsole trunks --disable 1 (1 being trunk 1)
        fwconsole trunks --enable 1

Has anyone tried using the noVNC option? I was pretty excited to see additional ways to remote desktop onto the computer as the default desktop viewer is sometimes a little limited. I couldn't get it to work. I wasn't sure is this was an AMT only option or if it should just work out of the box.

Chicago7 had some odd static issue going on mid afternoon. Checked 3 of the clients I have pointing to it and all had the same problem. I was about to move to a different server again and then it cleared up. Guess the only positive thing is they didn’t disconnect 👍

I ended up moving a couple of the systems to Chicago7. So far so good. Never really noticed that voip.ms has a little icon next to certain locations as recommended. Not sure if those are their less populated systems.
