@rojoloco yep. my eyes glazed over, my head slipped off my hand and forehead hit the desk.
wonder why they used the 486dx on their banner?
see the old crystals with the cable tie around them to stop them vibrating? -

This is fantastic.... random jewel discovered on Bandcamp:
not my cup of tea really. I'll wait for them to release Vista.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@scottalanmiller yep. luckily i've seen maybe 2 people dead. You, or maybe it;'s just me, but I can tell when there's no life left, it's like a level of energy is no longer present.
I've never seen a smashed up human, hope I never do, but if their brain is exposed, there's usually not much hope for them.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@scottalanmiller oh no. not a pleasant thing to do.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
fuel's gone up around $0.40c per gallon, or $0.09c per litre in 2 weeks where I am.
it's going to be great when they want us all to drive electric vehicles, because you can be certain they will increase the price of fuel to push people into them.
christ life has become convoluted, confusing and expensive in the last 20 years.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@scottalanmiller uhg, what a mess. I'd be going straight back inside and closing the curtains.

Adventures in DSL land last night. For a small while, the ping between my router and the other end of the PPPoE connection was 200ms.
If it makes you feel any better,... my In-Laws had fiber installed yesterday... They are rural... DSL most sorta works out there and the only other option is Sat...
I can't get Fiber likely for another 3-5 years. and I'm about 5 miles from where it currently stops.
Fiber - what's fiber?
Fiber was a member of the East German mens 4 x 200 metre swimming relay team, that competed at the 1874 winter Olympics in Tasmania.

@eddiejennings I took a look at Starlink, it'd be pretty outstanding to have 'net access in the middle of the Simpson Desert etc etc, but at $135/month, forget it.

While it's no longer made, I have been running a ReadyNAS for the last several years here at the house. It's a four bay in Raid 10 and having had but the one issue that we all have from time to time... drive failure.
Single drive was replaced and rebuilt without issue and has been running without issue for years... I can recommend ReadyNAS as others have experience with Synology..
Thanks for the input @gjacobse
