Was just told that I'm taking the lead on a 20 terminal ,15 tablet , 10 kitchen screen, top gold concept within the next month, I'll be traveling a lot and working my ass off.
Aren't you still working for that place that has sate you down and reprimanded you when you were told to do your job?
New management
Same circus different town. . .
different circus same town.
With my new boss I've already gotten access to 20 hours of video training, actual training classes, and open communication on how to make things better which I've never gotten before,
And more responsibility. But let me guess - You're going to point out the past bullshit per usual?
Maybe, .... just maybe, patience paid off. Sometimes you gotta just let it ride.
Bring the vendors together and keep your hands off unless you have no choice.
Good luck -

Site 1 - Run new wire for payphone
Site 2 - Add extended monitor on camera system to new POS counter
Site 3 - Meet contractor to spin up new DEF dispenser
None of these tasks are overwhelming. Just takes up the whole day.PayPhone? really? Did we time travel back to the early 90's?
Unattended fuel site. DEP regs.

RE: Laptop trying to factory reset itself
Here's another thing that helps sort out the issues. This command examines the cbs.log and dumps the results in a text file.
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt
Google the entries and address the issues one at a time.

RE: Laptop trying to factory reset itself
@mary I had to chkdsk before I could get it to settle down. Not sure why.

RE: Laptop trying to factory reset itself
@mary I've had 3 updates give me grief. In the repair utility, I went to the commandline and ran a chkdsk (insert driver letter here): /r once I verified on which drive the OS was located in the repair utility. It seemed to work. After, I ran DISM and sfc

Just not a fan of the layout of this vehicle.
Layout of what?
specifically, the dashboard - I hate the centralized video screen for everything. always looking to the right for speed, etc..
You'd think that they'd offer a HUD option. After all, isn't this a luxury car?

The big release is here. After about a month of QA on the Release Candidate, XCP-ng 8.0 is now available and can be safely used in production environments.
Looks like I get to see how the upgrade process goes.
I've been running beta for about a month, the upgrade was as smooth as any other minor upgrade using the ISO. It's a bummer the yum updates don't work for major upgrades, but it's not that big of a hassle.
I'm still on 7.4 and am waffling between going to 7.6 or 8. I have E5540 Xeons and I'll need to check the compatibility lists 1st.
You probably wont find it on any compatibility lists because it's so old. I have (2) E5649 in my home lab and both 7.6 and 8.0 work/ed flawlessly.
It's an old HP. They had just done away with the hand crank. I have no complaints with this system. I've seen quite a few posts on the XCP-ng forum with odd behavior with older systems. Either way, I have current backups.

RE: No Facebook - 30 Days. Go
One day after one of the mass shootings ( I don't remember which one), my brother and sister-in-law posted a 'We are the NRA' picture. That's when I decided that Facebook wasn't for me.
I don't care what your philosophy is. I don't need it shoved in my face. <<Pun intended>>

just got my third "Hey come talk to us about a job" in the last 2 weeks.
Enjoy being wanted.
it kinda came out of no where too.
I just getting a LinkedIN wasn't a bad idea eh?LinkedIn communications tend to be better than stuff from Monster, etc. The latter usually results in calls about developer positions, while my resume has zero development experience listed.
The random "I got your resume off the internet and was wondering if you wanted a job 6 hours away that pays a quarter of what you're looking for" connections are the best.
My gf is currently job seeking, she gets lots of those. The other hilarious ones are "work from home, $3k / week, just for receiving and unboxing shipments!" They don't give any company name or location... best case scenario is that you're unboxing / reshipping stuff from overseas sites like Wish. Worst case would be you're receiving shipments of drugs at your house.
@scotth Are you in Salt Lake?
Small town Western Pa

I see both like that. Not that I've used Monster in a decade, but every LinkedIn hit is something random and unrelated.
I especially like the ones from another country
