This makes me want to cry
Yeah, we used to get it loads, happened on a domain with loads of VLAN's - seemed to be that the GPO would say to map before the connection was fully established, especially for users on higher VLAN's...Users realised if they clicked them 99% of the time they would connect though so no major dramas...

Headbutting the concrete due to this file server issue
I find users leave less scarring.
I can't leave anything up to my users
No no no...I mean headbutt them instead of concrete...

@NattNatt Schrodinger's cat was an example of superposition. It is in both up(alive) and down(dead) states until observerd
Isn't that what I just said..?
It is in both states until observed..?

A USB plug will remain in a state of superposition until it is observed...
I thought that was known as Schrodinger's USB stick, it is both up and down, until you look?

Of course the one hard drive I have at home that I didn't get a chance to backup to crash plan yet is the one that fails.. And none of the ones I have backed up have ever failed.

I can't even imagine getting a full twelve hours off between things!
Yeah, but you're SAM - you're a machine!

Web hosting cashed a cheque ...
Maybe because you paid for this in the 1960s when little old ladies still used cheques?
Type of payment not withstanding that was a real dick move on their part. We are working super hard to kill off the stuff they host for us and while that project was already at an 11 for importance it's now hit 12. Unprecedented.
So wait... They took your payment and then said you didn't pay, <click> ?
Correct. Then we had to pay AGAIN by credit card to get the site back up.
Were you behind on the bill or something? That seems like theft to me.
Nope we were bang on, which leads to unbelievable point #3 - they cut us off within 24 hours of "no payment" after having hosted with them for 3+ years. No call, no courtesy, just F you guys click
Maybe it's time to get a new host...

Finally found an Acronis ISO and currently putting the image onto one of the new machines (i7 w/ 16GB RAM for 2 new Dev's we have) hoping for the best right now...

That is just a silly thing to say. PoE and PoE+ require, per the IEEE standard, category 5, but is still allowed to be ran on category 3 for lower wattage workloads.
I haven't installed many PoE+ cameras and have only had those running less than a year. Do you have a number of PoE+ cameras running on CAT5? Longer runs? I'm wondering why the camera company I was dealing made such a big deal about 23 guage CAT6 for their cameras. Maybe because it had a heater?
You mean a heater as in a heating unit? I guess? A quality cat5e cable will tolerate temperatures from -4 to 167 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind I run a lot of cabling for my company but I am by no means a cabling guru. Maybe they know something I don't. shrug
He means a heater in the camera enclosure.
Whats the point in that? I'm guessing reduce fog/ice etc?

What happened to Acronis clone tool?! Can't seem to find the free one anywhere..? I know clonezilla works - but Acronis is easier for resizing the images (going from a 250GB SSD to a 120GB SSD)
Really - I have used both, and think Clonezilla is pretty simple..
Love clonezilla for straightforward clones...but never had much success cloning to a smaller drive with it?
Curious - I can't say I have had issues.. I have even resided USB drives with it.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong - what triggers/process do you use to clone to a smaller drive?
