      @nadnerB @creayt @scottalanmiller

No new case yet! Still using an over flowing Antec900.

If I was more inclined to work on my own computer after a day of working on computers, I'd take it completely apart and give it some love. It all does actually fit in the A900 - it's just not pretty and absolutely filthy.

I still drool over the Lian-Li's - if you've ever used one IRL you'll know how soft and sexy they are on the inside. They're more than a pretty face with all the gorgeous rolled edges, grommets and nothing to slice you to bits.

Errr, most of the plans are in fact free. 🙂

Yes -Yes they are. I have used TechSoup for items now for nearly 10 years. Great source of software and such for a NPO.

You don't have to get O365 via TechSoup to qualify though. I actually went through NTG before I moved to NTG, @Minion-Queen, @scottalanmiller, @GregoryHall were all instrumental in the start up process of getting moved over.

If you still need a WebHost - GrassRoots may cover NPOs in Canada as well. - Again free.

Don't the scalers typically disable when there is no scaling to do? One would hope.

to some degree. But, they are still there an affecting the signal. Hence why most tv's even today have over/over scan issues. Going from CRT to LCD was suppose to fix that, since they are more predictable but it didn't. High end $4-6k tv's gennerally do much better about it though.

If you are uncertain, http://urlquery.net can be helpful.

It will report on what happens when you go to a particular URL.
It can even give you a preview (sometimes) of the page.

That's definitely different than other trusted sources lead me to understand.

Check your sources. Are they quoting the laundry list of 2013 (this article was 2014) references to the opposite being true? Looks like there was reason to believe it in 2013, but nothing substantial, so everyone repeated it. But it got put to the test in 2014 and proved to not be what people had been saying.

      This makes absolutely zero sense.

Maybe to you. But most people don't domain join the VM host (espcially if it's not Hyper-v) as both me @scottalanmiller and @GregoryHall said you really want to make sure Domain is redundant if you join the vm host.

If you are running the full server with hyper-v role you can RDP into it to manage no problem without a domain, If you have the hyper-v only server there are just a few powershell commands needed to enable management without a domain via RTAS. There's also free third party tools that can be run remotely or directly on the server.

Best option is still to put a second DC on @MattSpeller 's second VM host.

Pornography? Well, then you get into grey areas of art vs pornography, etc. Full disclosure, I've never been big into porn at all, it's just never been a thing for me, what happened was I realised an opportunity to make money when YouTube stopped allowing adult content (or actually started policing it, whatever happened) and took advantage of it.

MX records - can you have two? How does it sort them out?

It's common to have more than two. It's very rare that someone would have only one, it takes a lot more infrastructure to only have one and still be reliable. Generally you only see a single MX record with the biggest enterprise services (Office 365) or with test / lab setups where reliability doesn't matter.

soooo you're talking about robocopy instead of DFS?

I don't believe the file in my question to be static.. it needs to be changeable by all parties.

Micrsoft recommends during a robocopy before you turn on DFS. That way there isnt files replicating like crazy when you first turn it on. There will only be a few files which need to be updated.

OK sure, but he doesn't need whole folders to be replicated, he only needs single files for that outside the norm access.

Right. I was just trying to think of an outside of the box type way to do what he accomplished. When I saw it was only specific files, I realized it wasn't the right solution.
