We don't allow access. It requires a written letter signed by the employee and their boss to be submitted to the board for approval. we have 2 users across a very large company as well. we also don't support anything users make with formulas or macros in excel.

My insurance through work is much cheaper than that. That's $180/month for one person. I pay like $12/week for Medical, Dental and eye insurance as well as disability (short & long) and 4x annual Pay Life insurance. With medical I have I believe a $500 deductible. Medications have no deducible that has to be met and is usually less than $20 per medication co-pay.

I had to hack the bios in a Lenovo T410 to change the wifi card.

Pixar, Provient etc etc standardize on the HP z8xx line. Though with HPs cut in jobs and service who knows where the market will go. It's not as popular now, there used to be times when Mac made sense and you'd be insane to choose windows over it for video or audio work because windows used to suck at font rendering, graphics and audio drivers compared to Macs OSes video drivers and coreAudio. But, now days Adobe software works better on windows, Final Cut Pro 7 went to the consumer grade Final Cut Pro X. and Avid media composer and Avid Pro Tools works better on windows than it does on Mac (not that it works that great on either). Avid even choose to use windows computers for their live audio sound boards, not mac mini's. That shows who they think they work better.

I use both Macs and Windows. And have for a long time but I've always had a file management problem on Macs. I think this is also and issue on macs they don't want to change the OS they've built up, they've taken Unix and thrown so much stuff on top of it that it makes it hard to work.

I have a Love hate relationship with Mac OS. I like how some of it works, it's unix bits (Though that's also some of it's problem as there's too much pilled on top of it now to make MacOS), the terminal is great. and Font rendering beats most OSes. But, somehow I can't help but feel a bit unorganized on a mac, I can't ever really put my finger on exactly why but I think it's something to do with how finder works vs windows explorer. Anyone else feel this way?

Who does that? There's very little power to save on a modern computer at idle vs shutdown. It's a very minor business cost. That was the old school way of doing things. Most people leave them on 24/7 anymore.

Just like the idea that AV based on definitions, that idea is done. If you're AV works based on that, I think I would just skip it altogether anymore.

Now if they include known bad website filtering, disable USB, etc... then it might be worthwhile.

The Scanning doesn't have anything to do with those features. having those wouldn't change weather it's worthwhile or not.

Why do you want scheduled scans? I rarely run them. Catching things that are running is what is really important.

You can miss a lot by not doing them. We schedule them on Servers nightly, and Workstations weekly, they get picked up the next time they are on if they missed one (not Avast). There's a lot of things that get missed when using on-access scanning only.

It has a lot less features, it's their free/freeium version. SOA and the enterprise console are far more advanced.

Turn off roaming profiles, and use folder redirection (and offline files if needed). Roaming profiles always have issues.
