Personally, I'd not use HDD in any PC anymore, no matter the size. I'd choose to have a single 128gb SSD over 2 1TB spinners any day, and upgrade the SSDs when needed or even initially.

Not going to install much on 128gb now a day 😂

I know, besides the point. I'd rather do what I can with a 128 vs 2tb spinner. Of course I'd immediately get something bigger than 128,but I was just making a point.

I know what your saying but this is what I'm working with 😁ðŸĪĢ

So would you say maybe just use the 2x 240gb ssd (Raid)
Going to keep one 2tb as she wants to get into youtube/twtich etc so will need some storage for video editing

Need some advice on how to configure this guy for the kid.
      ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II
      Amd Ryzen5 3600
16gb ram (will have to check speed)
      RTX 3060 ventus 2x 12g oc

So the big question is this, I ordered this without HD's as I have x2 240gb ssd. But it came with x2 2tb.

Looking my initial thought was to use AMD StoreMI where you use the SSD as cache for the most frequently accessed stuff.

But would there be any benifit of make RAID 0 out of the pairs instead. Then maybe using the StoreMI and use the SSD Raid as cache for the HD Raid?

Or just pull some drives out and not use them 😂

I ran an old controller on a local network with no internet to support a site with old hardware. They were upgraded back in January, and migrated to my main controller. But easily workable for something like that.

Yeah that's what i'm thinking. We are slowly replacing but some site will take longer as they will need access equipment to get to.

    • Zabbix Windows NIC

      Need some help.
I want to see how much data a NIC has send and revived over a time period.
So need to see Total amount (i.e. 5GB over the day) not speed the traffic is coming in/out.

This is only a temporary so will only run for a few days at most.

Any Ideas, looks like the default Windows template shows the speed of the data. Mbps

I have done it with the S3 Vault Lock feature, you can use it in conjunction with Storage Gateway (effectively emulating tapes), or using objects directly.

Once put in compliance mode, there is no way to delete the objects before the compliance period ends. It's also very cheap.

I'm trailing this now. Well to S3 storage, if it works I'll enable the Lock bit

Since we are a SMB we used to use Tape (well RDX), but with people leaving the company, relaying on people to remember to take them home, put the right ones in 😄

I hoping they will change their software soon so i don't need to worry about it 😄

I don't believe this at all. People use what is sold to them, not what is easiest. Hence why Windows is so popular. One one can claim it's easy compared to anything else, yet it is super popular. Why? Marketing. Easy to use means nothing to consumers.

Disagree, i find Windows a lot easier than Linux or MAC. But i think that's more to do with what i'm used to :).
Also find getting software to work out of the box easier.
