Pardon the geek out, but happy with a successful email send tonight...

What is so special about sending an email? Only that it was using AX.25 over VHF on 145.030MHz using a fifteen year old radio.. message travel about forty miles before it hit another computer then the internet....

I’m still surprised just how much of a difference this office is compared to the clinic.

In the time here (Thirty days) I’ve cuss the same as I would cuss in an hour at the clinic.. big difference.

Facebook's login system is being hijacked by China's Great Firewall

For the last three days, China's Great Firewall has been intercepting the Javascript module from Facebook Login, which allows third-party sites to authorize users through Facebook infrastructure. First reported on Sunday, the attack causes sites using Facebook Login to redirect to a third-party page for many web users in China. "This behavior is occurring locally and beyond the reach of our servers," a Facebook spokesperson told The Verge. "We are investigating the situation."

Conference calls galore today! Everyone wants to get their stuff scheduled before the end of the year! Umm don't people realize that the end of the year is only 3 weeks away. Wanting to do a full infrastructure build when nothing has been signed, or ordered (servers etc) is NOT going to happen before December 31st!

      Nah - It can happen..

Is there an ETA on a release of intended training topics / sketch of agenda? I'd like to make a pitch to management to try to offset the costs, and being able to relate specific topics to job function would be helpful.

I need this if I'm going to try a last min attendance.

Well your management wont care about my sessions on VoIP.

      Not specifically, that's true.

They will when I say, "this conference will help solidify my knowledge about what needs to be done for a project that'll save us about $500 - $600 / month." 🙂

A 3-month ROI for an annual conference? Should definitely be a win-win.

What? Your attendance at this conference is $1500-1800? I suppose it could be.

All expenses (registration, flight, and hotel) will be about $1300 for me. I'll only be asking for the registration fee from the company. The rest won't pass the laugh test.

that stinks! My company gives me $2500/yr for training budget. Luckily this covers the cost of MLcon or Spiceworld, but not both. .and definitely not some of the really big cons.

    • RE: Writing a Cover Letter

@IRJ I do agree with you to a point.... But some view not having the requested documents a sign of inability to follow basic instructions. Not included, in the shredder it goes because it's incomplete.

And in some cases, you can express things in a cover letter that can't be easily highlighted in a resume.

    • iOS device: Signing out of the OWA app

In preparation of my departure tomorrow, I was looking to see what I needed to do to remove my login credential from the iOS OWA app.

in all the looking I have not found a log out. I've been through the OWA app, and also the settings screen.

Searching : ""change owa login on iphone""

OWA for iPad and OWA for iPhone

      • You can’t sign out from OWA for iPhone or OWA for iPad. To remove your sign in information and any downloaded content, remove the app from your device

I should add, that I work with some of the best people in the IT world. From personalities to knowledge,.. each one are easy to get along with, work beside (as beside as you can get being 500-2000 miles apart), and talk with.

I don't feel that I work FOR them... I work WITH them. and that to me makes a huge difference in an office environment.

      Second Monday's suck.

@scottalanmiller Glad you got back safe and without any additional incidents.

@handsofqwerty That also stinks. Thing about GPS units, is they will go after the set favorites, case them, and determine if there is a larger 'haul' over the car. Why you should never tag your HOME or Family locations as they could be targeted.
