I wanted to let the community know that we have a pretty great UPS selector out. (Also has replacement batteries @nadnerB) Check it out, we'd love to get your feedback. http://upsselector.eaton.com/

I love the name MangoLassi BTW. Craving Indian now. Luckily, like most Eaton people on the forum, I'm in Raleigh, NC where its pretty easy to find top notch Indian.

@JaredBusch PDU's, racks, are definitely in the wheel house of SMB IT. We also have panel boards (breaker panels) , surge protection, and LED lighting.

@BRRABill We tested that theory on a different forum with a user base. We provided an “off-line” UPS in their typical environments. Communications is really what makes a UPS “server grade”. So if being able to remotely shutdown (or with integration of a hypervisor) migrate VM’s to a safe host (a server that is not on battery), which is usually the case, we would recommend sticking with something that talks to you and lets you take actions or have those actions preemptively ready to go.

@nadnerB we have an agreement and are stewards with calls2recycle http://www.call2recycle.org/list-of-stewards/. You can use them to safely recycle our 1PH UPS batteries. If you are looking for a replacement head here. http://eatonbattery.montageinteractive.com/

@BRRABill unless you want to shut that one server down remotely 🙂 Which can come in handy when the power goes out, your A/C isn't running and your server starts to overheat while running on battery. (FEAR MONGERING!!!)

@BRRABill indeed @Dashrender , no network card slot on the "Superior" models. (Also not rack mountable). Breakdown of line card can be found here. "P" is for premium. Anything with "X" has extended battery capabilities.

@JaredBusch prices on the web!! NEVER! www.cdw.com should have some prices. To be honest we sell these primarily through electrical distributors like Wesco and Rexel.
