      Sounds like a great opportunity. May I ask why the stipulation that this person be "outside" the US?

      Just for cost. It's a purely internal position so no benefit to high cost US based resources.

      Fair enough. Thank you.

      Agree with @scottalanmiller - don't bring it up unless you can prove it.

      I agree....find the proof first. I would suggest the genuine advantage step first. Then maybe you could put the product key in a google search? Maybe it will come up?

      @Bill-Kindle said:

      @Mike-Ralston It's a router / firewall that you can install on pretty much any old computer with two NIC's.

      The one thing you have to worry about for hardware requirements is the supported network cards. It will RUN on anything but you may not be able to use it if your network cards are not supported.

      I wonder if this is because ESX is not able to emulate an ARM processor.

      But Android runs on x86 doesn't it?

      No...it is ARM only.

      But you could try an Android port to x86. http://www.android-x86.org/getsourcecode

      It's not official Android, as it's a port for a different architecture. But this is just for training purposes right?

    • RE: How did you get started in IT?

      I have an older cousin by about 8 years. He was into linux and building computers and such. I use to always go over to his house when I was 4-5 years old and be mesmerized at what I saw. I started tinkering myself with a computer my parents had. Took at the components out and replaced them. Started to install windows and and configure it. Been hooked ever since.

    • Just got "the call" from fake MS support

      Oh wow. almost 11 PM and I got a call from an indian sounding lady, saying she was from Microsoft technical support and had a question regarding my computer. If it wasn't so late I would be down for spinning up a VM and playing with them. But she got hung up on instead.

      I could probably get away with RAID 6. Wouldn't be so expensive. Meaning I wouldn't need a 1-1 mirror.

      Same price. At four bays RAID 6 and RAID 10 are identical in price and capacity. Only RAID 10 is faster and safer. RAID 6, in theory, should not exist until you have five or more spindles.

      Agreed, with that statement. I would only consider RAID 6 with 5 or more drives to save money and not have to by so many drives.
