    • RE: Telescope recommendations?

@obsolesce the best telescope is the one that you will use. The biggest urge you need to fight is buying a larger scope as your first. What you want to do is get one that is a small light and you can setup fast.

One that is good for seeing and good pictures are kinda opposite ends of the spectrum. I do astrophotography as a hobby. (https://instagram.com/westtexasastro) I started off doing visual, the scope I started with is an Orion StarSeeker IV 127mm. It came with a motorized mount that points the telescope, once you set it up a couple times you can do it and align it in 5ish minutes. It is good for looking at the moon and planets, but you can see some of the brighter nebulas like The Orion Nebula. I’ve also hooked my DSLR to the back of it with a T adapter, but you could also get a mount to hold your smart phone over the eye piece to take pictures with as well.

Glad I never purchased any Meraki equipment. I demoed some then saw the recurring fee and decided against it.

ranted it's not 3pm still but I haven't seen any action on it besides leaving the local sort facility so I'm wondering if it will get there. They supposedly refund if it's late so you'd think it would be on time.. but they may just have a refund loophole.

Is this service from USPS, if so, their tracking sucks, i've seen it show still not delivered even though the item is in my hand.

What is even "worse", if anything can be, is that the Cisco Platinum Partner host that was hosting the event decided to play along and not call their bluff and hope that the audience, which was all IT people, wouldn't notice!! That or they actually weren't aware of what a realistic lie about networking would sound like.

I don't even want to imagine how much the Cisco router would be that could handle 14Tb/s ...

that's why I've started posting the information of importance here on ML instead of just a link to the site.

@scottalanmiller said in Random Thread - Anything Goes:

      That's what I do.

That's one reason i've always thought of doing a blog type site listing things i've done and how.

The main concern with having a blog - microblog, is you getting board/tired of it. That and it's yours. of course ML could go under tomorrow and the effort I've put in here would be lost, but that's much less likely with a site like than than a personal blog.

Of course finding anything here is only marginally easier than another major IT community site...

That's arguable - even if you have to restort to Google searching ML, it's all open and searchable. Hopefully over time ML will gain in popularity and will get more searches, more new members and more content.

A blog, unless you manage to become famous will always be very limited in size.

It isn't the "searchability" necessarily, but the findability. I've tried to dig through the detritus looking for specific posts/articles, and finding them is very time consuming. Perhaps I need to use the Advanced Search more.

this is my advanced search for ML, go to google and search "site:mangolassi.it etc."

    • RE: Certbot Apache plugin broken in Fedora 26

      Found a solution:

      https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1470180

Basically, the python2 certbot apache plugin is broken, but the python 3 certbot apache plugin works. So I installed it.

      sudo dnf install python3-certbot-apache
