I think I will stick with Gnome over Cinnamon on Korora. Not just because I'm afraid to break my currently working setup, but because it's actually starting to grow on me.
I can actually feel a productivity increase using my computer this way over the standard Windows-like Cinnamon layout.
I like how the "Windows key" on the keyboard shows all your open windows, easy access to other screens, and search. Also moving mouse to upper left hand corner does the same thing.
I don't know, it's more than just that though... if you know what I mean. It seems cleaner too.
Gnome and Unity is pretty much my comfort Desktops. The layout is clean and doesn't have that windows 7 mouse clicking needs.

Hyper-V. It's what I have been rolling for production so it only makes sense to have it in my lab so I can test stuff.
Restoronix are big fans of Hyper-V
Well that is because you are baking in Veeam.
Hyper-V is a great hypervisor, too... there are few reasons not to use it, and most of those reasons have nothing to do with Hyper-V itself.
I'm curious, what would be your reasons not to use it?

For a free KVM hyper visit that can be managed from a web browser, proxmox is the easiest compare to ovirt. Ovirt is meant to be setup with an engine host and a storage node.
You are probably correct.
It would be nice to have one running off of Fedora instead of Debian.
oVirt seems like a lot of work to setup!
Installing ovirt-engine requires answering some questions. And there is a storage node setup ISO that you use to install on a separate hardware.

That's just user profile data. Are you talking about redirecting the user profile?
No , the question is two fold. First, can you install internet explorer to a secure volume so it can't launch unless they unlock their secured drive? Second If IE can't be installed on an alternate path, if the path to their temporary files is unavailable, will Windows just dump them somewhere else?
Internet explorer is not like the other browsers. It's part of the operating system. How about not using Internet explorer and stick with Firefox. I believe Opera and Vivaldi allows USB like installation.

Are you asking if IE just starts putting private data anywhere? That seems very unlikely. What makes you think that?
If you log in to windows and your profile isn't available, Windows creates a temporary profile for you and runs under that. This isn't the exact case since you would have to have to unlock your secure volume after you log in and your profile loads, but I'm thinking the behavior would be the same.

Fedora 25 Gnome for work laptop and home desktop.
Fedora and CentOS for servers.
I might install Fedora on my work PC if Windows 10 end up making me hulk out.
@Tim_G Sorry to here that. If you are willing, try out Fedora 26 Alpha. Its possible you might need a more recent kernel.
@Tim_G I found a couple of links that might help you.

@Tim_G Maybe try without UEFI, UEFI without Secure Boot, or without full disk encryption.

Fedora 25 just randomly froze while mid upgrade process. Hard reset my laptop, now continuing...
I'm starting to think it's my hard drive... it's an m.2. But the SMART status is all good. Disk manager says it's okay too.
Have you tried Fedora 25 Gnome or Korora 25 Gnome too?
@FATeknollogee said in Home Lab Hypervisor?:
Virt-manager vs oVirt, which one is considered more "up to date"?
For virt-manager, it depends on the distro you will be using since you will be installing from that distribution. Not sure about oVirt.
You could go all out and setup oVirt. You can manage it via a web browser.
Is Korora Cinnamon using wayland or xorg?

Yeah... I've had 0 issues with Fedora so far... and with Korora, it's endless. I'm hoping to get to a stable state in Korora. If I just can't, Fedora it is.
My issue could possibly be with my AMD Graphics Card. Plus I can't get passed the bright and colorful icons. It seems weird too me.

Before I do anything, I wonder if Korora would be any better than Fedora?
Yeah I really don't see the difference between the two except for that dumb side bar. I'll stick to Fedora rather than Korora.
Anyone know of any benefit to Korora over Fedora?
I believe its more of a convenience of not have install repos, certain packages and making it look nice.
