Hahaha, never watched that @nadnerB , just looked like more abc junk. that video is probably much more entertaining than the show.

I never ended up watching it but the multi-slapping is quite fitting in describing what working in a Tech Support/customer service/other "I interact with people" job can be like.

That's how I always feel when it comes to printers.

Before Windows 10 to get a symlinknyou couldn’t do it without elevated permissions now is much improved.

I use directory junction (/J) instead of directory symbolic link (/D), which requires admin privileges. All I wanted is to create a link from c:\users\user1\Desktop to c:\users\user1\Nextcloud\Desktop.

Edit: Now obviously there are more to it than just creating links to have it properly setup.

@DustinB3403 said in KVM Desktop Setup Ideas:

Setting up a software array during installation isn't an option (when using all disks) because of the file structure. So you are required to either install to a separate medium (stand alone disk) or something like SD card and use the remaining disks to create your array from.

Software raid during installation is possible. Just have to choose Advanced Custom (Blivet-GUI) when choosing storage configuration.

Here be dragons: HBO drops full trailer for Game of Thrones final season

There's no guarantee of a happy ending as the epic series heads into the end game.

Based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling epic fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones long ago outstripped the novels in terms of plot, although the author had some input in shaping the TV series' narrative arc. We've seen plenty of sex, blood, and horrifying death over the course of seven seasons, and now it's time for the end game. This being George R.R. Martin, there's no guarantee of a happy ending.

I'll wait until the season is over and then binge watch it like I always do.

There are many good Outlook alternatives, I dont think that should be your worry. More like the users and the look and feel of everything.

When I made the choice of installing Fedora LXDE/LXQT on thin clients and we have around 34 of them, the whole reason it worked was everything needs to be done via web browser and when you do that, you dont need Windows OS anymore, just Linux + good printer companies with Linux drivers like Xerox.

      https://alternativeto.net/software/microsoft-office-outlook/?platform=linux

If you users and company have Exchange, you need (forced) to use Outlook, maybe in the future when the use OWA or stuff like that, they can rely on web browsers only. But yeah if you really want to change this I think you need to change the core thing that is being an anchor which is Exchange server to something that has better clients.

I am just looking for myself, so it doesnt necessarily have to be user friendly. I will also run a Windows VM to do certain, rare tasks that require Windows.

My Windows VM is always active, it's actually set to autostart.

What are you using as hypervisor?

      KVM.
