I feel bad for the people that lost their jobs. I hope they find work soon. Getting media jobs from what I understand is already difficult. I'm sure companies are going to offer lower paying salaries due to the local market being flooded. Sad.
Media jobs are tough in general, but SW is a good media brand to have on your CV and Austin is a good town to be looking for that kind of work. So hopefully the majority of people will land on their feet very quickly.

I always love to see how a community (any community) pulls together to help people find jobs etc. too. So if you all know of anything even if it's not in Austin. Let them all know!

I really did enjoy Austin. I have some family there and have been meaning to go down and visit just to visit.

Wow, just saw this news... but I'm not that surprised considering the activity over there had slowed to a trickle (and was often noob questions from people who have no business setting up systems). Plus the fact that they had been actively alienating their long time users. When my account got put into the moderation time out corner this last time, I stopped posting there altogether. If they cancel spiceworld, I better get my money back.

@RojoLoco I hear that! I got a little sick and tired of being chastised by their so called "moderators"....just long time users wielding power they should never have. I know I'm an abrasive S.O.B. but if you aren't in their little clique, expect that. Eye opening when I got to a certain spice level to see a closed forum where they talked shit about "lesser" spice level members. Sad.
