Visa shows ring Olympians can use to pay in Rio

This would make me feel a bit more secure knowing that I don't have to pull out my wallet every time I needed a beer....

Is it wise to show that off in a city where anyone would cut off your finger without thinking to get a credit card?

I totally like not having to pull out a wallet... you don't want to do that when you don't have to. things fall out, people grab it, people watch to see where you put it. A ring or phone or other fob device is nice for a lot of reasons. But I don't want something that is going to encourage people to chop off my finger to get to it.

@scottalanmiller At the moment this is only the people actually competing that are going to have this.

            Not the general public.

Oh I know, and they can have their fingers chopped off if they want. It's just a really goofy way to showcase a payment technology in my opinion. Things I don't want to wear: rings. People I don't want to be associated with: amateur athletes. Ways I don't want to make payments: things that get my body parts chopped off.
