IMO it's funny...the scary part is how many people just click blindly without thinking about what they're doing...

You can't blame them if they are used to another button that they use every day being there. What would happen if your "send" button in your email were replaced with a prank button?

But the pop-up explains what it is when you open the email/compose a new email, and it looks totally different...granted, could have been executed a lot better...and possibly not the brightest idea...

Or even the ones that manage an accidental click!

I could see this as being an issue for a wide range of people.... at the same time I don't really care, because using gmail for your business needs is like using an hatchet for sharpening a pencil.

Just the wrong tool for the job.

Does it work, yes, but it's subject to this crap.

I found gmail to be quite capable especially for personal business use.

But this is where Gmail for Business comes in.

The free service, is free, and subject to the antics of Google.

I highly doubt that they pulled this on their business accounts.

If you run a sole proprietorship gmail is fine.

surely if you have any sort of relationship with a publisher, they'd call you, or you could call them. Explain the situation and sort it out...

The mic drop is not over the send button it was over what was the send and archive button.

If you are doing all import OMG this is horribly critical email, then why the hell would you send and archive in the first place?

Of course if you were sending some horrible OMG important email, for your lively hood, I do not get why you were using personal GMail accounts.

Do they work? Well yes as @IRJ mentioned. But I still will not excuse people for this.
