I am getting this error on two of my Windows 2012 R2 Servers:
The Open Procedure for service "BITS" in DLL "C:\Windows\System32\bitsperf.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code.

I found a link in another community that talked about this error message, but nobody seems to have posted a solid answer. Scott mentioned that he was seeing it on Server 2012 in the other community. I wonder if anyone has found a fix yet?

Points to a 2008 article with lots of info, is that what you are talking about?

Do you know what that service actually does? I haven't researched it yet.

@ajstringham I am not sure. I am researching it myself. I just noticed this on two of my 2012 R2 Servers this morning

                  I found this:

                  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb968799(v=vs.85).aspx

Looks like it's used for updates and C and C++ dev. Stupid question. What would happen if you just disabled it? Try running the server and if no issues arise, problem averted albeit not resolved.

@Bill-Kindle Do you think its related to Server Manager? I enjoy having Server Manager to manage my 2012 Servers from my Windows 8.1 PC. I hope it doesn't cause me any issues.
