XenServer - SSMTP - Define Account
-
So this is a general question, is anyone aware of where I have to define a user account within /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf (or thereabouts) to be able to send email from XenServer.
Just looking for a way to confirm MDADM alerts, as well as usage alerts.

No idea, I only use Postfix

Why do you need a user account? Have you tested the mail command?
-
Well that ain't much help lol.
-
mail: command not found
-
Plus wouldn't using what's already built into XS be better than having to customize the installation?

Great point. Have you tried sending yourself an email from the command line yet?
echo "Test Email" | mail -s 'test' [email protected]
-
Mail isn't found.
I could install it.
yum install -y mailx
Edit: actually mailx and mail aren't found as available for installation...
-
Of course I have to enable the repo under
/etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo
enabled=1 -
Does this article help at all?
-
Which with it installed.

Somewhat but it has something to do with the SMTP settings...
I can successfully connect with SSL on port 587
but can't open smtp.office365.com

Ah, the issue is that you want to use a relay. might want to try skipping the relay.
-
Got it sorted with a good old gmail account.

Yes, using a relay is a much different thing than sending mail directly.
@DustinB3403 You just worked around an issue without even know what your issue was.
