@BRRABill unless you want to shut that one server down remotely 🙂 Which can come in handy when the power goes out, your A/C isn't running and your server starts to overheat while running on battery. (FEAR MONGERING!!!)

Of course the FiOS would also be down, and thus I'd have no way to reach out to that UPS anyway.

      FEAR CONTROLLED! 🙂

By the way - kudos to the engineer who designed the rack mount EBU's so that you can pull the batteries out, rack it, stuff them back in. My back thanks you.

You bet. Quite a team effort in reality.

Precisely what we use the 9PX for. Servers stay up for the ~10-15 mins it takes to shut them down, then the bulk of the run time goes to our PoE switches + Mitel box to keep the phones running in case of emergency.

I now get to look into that.

Just got out of a power outage post mortem.

I get to replace the UPS in the remote network closet with a UPS that works on the network. Yeah!

Who should I talk to about the trade in stuff?

I currently have an APC 1000XL. I want at least 1500VA and talks to the network.

Moving forward, if there are Eaton questions, who should we ping?

I meant if there was an instance to include someone from Eaton for question in future threads, who should we ping?

@mdecamp, @windso, or @JColeKen would be your first options

Who do you typically work with for purchasing IT equipment? If they're an Eaton partner, they'll have access to our UPSgrade program, which can set you up for a discount and disposal.

For the past year or two I've been using Softmart... I've used CDW in the past (but after they moved my sales person I had no reason to stay with them).
