I would suggest a few adapters HDMI to VGA, VGA/HDMI to USB etc. These will even work with a Mac 99% of the time. Also make sure there is audio ability as well (pair of simple computer speakers might work for this).

They don't need audio, so that's easy 🙂

HDMI to VGA is hard to do without a conversion box, because VGA is analog and HDMI is digital. Anyone know of a good convention box?

HDMI to USB is hard to do also, because you need a driver.

This also needs drivers (the same thing I was talking about). You will probably always need drivers for stuff like this.

Not that hard. Converting VGA to HDMI (I don't think you need HDMI to VGA since the TV is wanting HDMI) is easy. StarTech, CablestoGo, Cable Matters etc. etc. all make them.

Because the search flipped it. That will convert HDMI video to VGA,.. not VGA to HDMI..
                  Goof ball search.

Nope. Not as long as the computer supports a resolution the TV does. Which it should.

I guess the other option is to have them buy a PC that is always connected to the TV.....

How about some sort of Bluetooth setup, with a USB dongle to plug into their device? No clue, just a thought.

That could need drivers. that would be a pain.

Frankly it would be better for the funeral home to ask that all video and photos be provide to the home, then the home can use their own computer with something like google slide show... much easier.

Normally how this is done is a list of technical requirements is given to the family (just like any other event). Requirements needed to plug into their TV. As well as requirement for what picture formats can be used on their computer (and what sources you can import from) as well as the Fee if any for using their computer/equipment.

Espcially if you go the route of providing a computer or them bringing there own (but really either way it's best) a switcher is the cleanest solution. And they could have it mounted somewhere hidden with wall jacks.
