But I've also used them for target practice. I'm personally not worried about the government trying to recover the data on the drives. And I'm not worried about normal criminals trying to recover data because the cost involved would most likely be higher than the value of the data gained.

Drilling/shooting, totally fine in my opinion.

Shooting gives you a little stress relief too!

@brianlittlejohn Can confirm. Recommend only rifle calibers for solid penetration. Shotgun slugs are also HIGHLY recommended. Compete for distance & best flip with your buddies.

Rifle round for complete destruction. I had a WD stop .40 handgun round.

I can't say that I've ever been so upset at something that I've need to shoot it.

              But that's just me.

@DustinB3403 Being upset is not required to enjoy shooting. But shooting at targets is much better than shooting at people.

                          Using these:

However at $3 a round, it might be a little pricy.

@johnhooks Probably considering how few drives those might actually go through....

You'd be better of purchasing a bearing press, and high powered magnets.

They're solid steel. They'll go through. The plastic never holds up like in the picture, the petals come off.
