@thecreativeone91 they do have a free version. It's limited to around 2-3 days for log history though.

With the ELK setup, are you able to age records out automatically, so that everything older than say.. 1 month automatically gets purged?

Not really a free product then, just a free trial.

It's really free, not a trial. Two servers with a shorter than usual retention. That's still a full and quite usable product if you have need to look at just two servers. The three day retention is not a big deal, it's still very functional for monitoring and troubleshooting. A bit useless for long term capacity planning.

@thecreativeone91 You also get monitoring with it. Realtime, and a daily digest of every event (that crosses a threshold).

But it has all of the features, no part of it is a trial.

Do you consider all the ones that you pay for, short of the "Unlimited" top end one, to be trials as well? If not, what's the difference? They are all limited in similar ways to the top end one.

Looks a bit like CopperEgg. Nice service, small companies tend to balk at the cost, though.

Because it's just a trial version to get you into buying their other pay for version. It's not a stand alone fully feature free version that they only offer as free.

What feature is missing that we aren't aware of? I didn't see any functionality not there.

Even if it was missing features, that's still not what trial means. Trial means you get something to test it and then lose it. Every feature that you get with the free version you get to keep, forever (in theory.) Nothing trial about it.
