      Ted Dekker

Have you read his Circle series?

      Yes, I have it.

My wife read that and loved it. Mind blowing.

I also have Frank Peretti's Books.

I've been wanting to read his "Piercing the Darkness" series.

I have both of these... But I've got This Present Darkness & Piercing the Darkness).

I've also got Visitation and the Oath.

Gave my Pops Ted Dekker's House for Christmas this year.

We've been buying all of these books for the last decade or so. She's read them all, but I haven't had a chance to read any of them. Still on my to-do list. I did the The Visitation movie, but I'm sure its not as good as the book.

I have difficulty finding time to read. If I had time I would like to read the Codex Alera books again. It seems the only time I have is driving to and from work. I wonder if they have audio books???

Still on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Getting close to the end, though.

Thinking about what to read to the kids after this. Luciana has requested The Lord of the Rings but I don't think that they would be engaged enough for it. I'm thinking Dragons of Autumn Twilight would be a good one to start them on.

If you want a fantasy series, the dragon lance saga is a good classic style.

If you want something with more female role models, look at the Pern series from Anne McCaffrey.

@jaredbusch Have you read any of L Ron Hubbard's books? A friend of mine was explaining how great he was as a science fiction author (if you just ignore Scientology). I was considering picking up some of his works to see what the deal was

Bad taste in Sci-Fi? Hubbard started writing when Sci-fi was basically "write anything in the genre and everyone will buy it". I won't tell you not to read stuff by him. It's good foundational stuff to understand where the genre was and how far it has come (or not come). Just that he wasn't a great writer and even of his contemporaries he wasn't that good.
