      Thought it was Phishing are first, but it appears to be real..... I have no idea who the person is or why this would come to me.....

            Links pointing to Google doesn't really mean anything. Anyone can fake that. Now WHY would they fake it, I have no idea.

                Oh, I see what they are doing.
                When you hit recover account, enter your recovery details, which are promptly pilfered, hit next and then wait for a bit. KAPOWIE! You've just had your Gmail account haxed.

                Identity theft. It can be easier to assume someone else's identity if you control/have access to their primary email address... But I'm sure that you already knew that.

                  He said that the links mostly went to Google. The question would be... does the one that matters go to Google or not?
