*The US State Department and FBI announced a US$3 million (A$3.8 million) reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Russian national Evgeniy Bogachev, the highest bounty US authorities have ever offered in a cyber case.

The FBI also issued a 'wanted' poster for Bogachev, who is charged in the United States with running a computer attack network called GameOver Zeus that allegedly stole more than US$100 million from online bank accounts.*

I'm sure that the reward money would have to go towards a new life as some of the associates of Evgeniy Bogachev may wish some level of harm upon the snitch/rat.

I wonder why Russia wants to help the US all of the sudden. Seems kind of fishy to me.

Russia doesn't want rogue hackers anymore than anyone else does. Not good business and doesn't help them.
