      yum install man-pages

      done

Should have already been there. Every normal system has it by default. How was that missing?

I always do the minimal install. Unsure if that's supposed to be included or not in the minimal. Seems like it should. Idk.

It's there in minimal for sure.

the man command worked but man system did not. After the install it worked.

      That's weird.

Seems like man is installed but man-pages is not.

That's just outright odd, but I know I run into this myself.

      /shrug

      I wonder why this happens

Someone's misplaced minimalism on the minimal install. I forget which version that was I saw that happen.

This one was the most recent CentOS 7 minimal install I believe. Only a few weeks old.

What version? Last time I checked the packaged ISO was still 1511. You can get newer, of course, but the main download was 1511.

1511 was what I installed. Is this supposed to include man-pages? This was just normally installed and actually followed your NextCloud guide for CentOS 7.

      That's what we normally use.

1511 is most certainly not new. It also has known issues such as not having firewalld installed by default. I actually detailed the differences in packages two years ago in a thread on here.

I shouldn't have said newest. What I meant was the most recent main download.

Really? two years ago? I remember the jokes in Nov 2015 about the version number matching with Windows 10 1511.

Find my post. Maybe it was only a year ago.
But the version is older than November 2015 I do believe.

I do not normally do live installs, but found this interesting.

@JaredBusch I have actually run into that before. Interesting. To think it would be solved by just a little more memory

You guys think that humanity has increased in crappiness over the past 100 years or we've been that way the entire time and globalization is just bringing more to our attention?

I agree, humans have always sucked. We just see it way more often.

The the idiots who are driving during a hurricane and then get washed away in a flooded road. Darwinism is trying it's best to take these people out, but other humans keep stepping in to save those lives...

I'm kind of an optimistic nihilist--meaning I don't believe life has any inherent meaning or purpose but that is a very positive influence on me. Like saying "nothing really matters."

I think humanity killing itself is to be expected.

The only way I can see us actually evolving past our base instincts is if we find a way to have some kind of collective experience. Something that enables you to go through what I've gone through and actually reach a tangible level of understanding. We would actually learn from history if we had something like that.
