                E-mail chain from yesterday:

                Boss1: Does [blah] interest you?
                Me: Yes.
                Boss 1: What?
                Me: Yes, [blah] interests me.

                New E-mail chain for today:

Boss1: Here is a forward about [blah2] and a [directive]. Please do not respond with inane clarification requests.
Me: [Hasn't and won't respond as there's no need.]

Times like this I have to remind myself of the advice I give others "remember to breathe."

LOL - yeah I have email chains like that at times.

I've been given a directive - If I have questions in an email they must be at the top of the email. apparently the information which is what makes answering the questions more possible is annoying. 😉

Heh. The beauty of it is the inane question actually came from the person telling me not to ask inane questions. 😛 I was asked to clarity "yes." In retrospect I was probably too curt; however, given the context of the original E-mail, I was literally asked if I was interested in [the thing], so "yes" seemed pretty clear.

Yeah - I get that. Sadly, they were unwilling or unable to read the rest of the attached emails to know what 'yes' was in response to. This is a problem we have around here.

for example - I really dislike small answers like - fine.

In my experience, many people don't. I live by Strunk and White's rule of "omit needless words" whenever possible. Sometimes I forgot to add -v to my interactions with others.

                                -v?

                                  -v?

                                  Verbose?

-v or --verbose would be the opposite of omitting needless words. . . it would actually add a bunch of words. . .

I kinda figured after asking - lol

not that most would even know what that meant if you wrote -verbose
