    squid service cannot be started !!!!!

      Hi everybody

      i'm in a difficult situation, the package squid in pfsense cannot be started, i try to start the service but it get stopped again automatically, this issue occur after an electricity cut

      any help please !!

        knowing that i have reinstalled the package many times, restart pfsense many times but no chance

          I'm guessing you're just using the command

          service squid start
          

          Or substitute start for restart?

            @thanksaj i tried to start the service from the web GUI of pfsense

                          @IT-ADMIN where is the log file exactly because i checked in this file /var/squid/logs/access.log but it doesn't show any thing about the service status

                                after the upgrade i reboot it many times
                                but since this morning the squid service not wanting to start

                                    The access log is the log of what Squid has allowed. If Squid is not running, there is no process to write to that log. That log will never show anything about Squid's behaviour. You need to look at the system logs to see why a process is not starting properly.

                                      i forget to say that recently i tried to add a captive portal, but i deleted it

                                            kill -15 squid
                                            service squid start
