Having been a fan of Netgear ReadyNAS unified storage units for years, I have obliviously missed that at some point along the way NTFS-style ACLs were incorporated into the RAIDiator system. No big announcement was made (that I saw) about this but this is the biggest feature that we thought was missing for many years. Very cool. I just learned this directly from a discussion with Netgear and have dug into the ReadyNAS unit that I have sitting here and voila, there are the ACLs. Who knew?

So if anyone has seen me (or anyone else) posting about when to select what units when in need of NTFS ACL support, you can now (and for some time) have ReadyNAS on that list!

Thanks. That is a pretty significant feature.

Yes, it really is. I'll be recommending ReadyNAS far more often now. I have been using it for years without the ACLs and love it in general.

This isn't new. We've had ACL support when connected to AD for years.

There is an article for this also for OS4.
